Conan Exiles hits Xbox One Game Preview alongside The Frozen North expansion
Conan Exiles is getting a little chillier as it makes its console debut in the Xbox One Game Preview program.

Conan Exiles is now officially available (opens in new tab) on Xbox One in early access through the Game Preview Program. In a bit of a double-whammy, the Xbox One launch is also accompanied by the launch of The Frozen North, a massive free content update for the game.
Conan Exiles is an open-world survival game that takes place in the titular universe of Conan the Barbarian. The game has already been available on PC in early access since January 2017, and it has picked up several pieces of new content and features since launch. The Xbox One version features all of the same content as the PC release.
The Frozen North expansion, which also releases today, increases the size of Conan Exiles' world by around 70 percent, according to developer Funcom. As hinted by the name, the expansion packs a whole new chilly landscape to check out in the North, along with new buildings, armor, enemies, and more.
If you want to give Conan Exiles a shot, you can pick the game up in Game Preview for $34.99. Funcom eventually expects the game to launch in full on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 in the first quarter of 2018.

My guess is it will always cost money. While there is multiplayer and PvP, it really doesn't seem to have the MMO aspects and DLC microtransactions that are typical of a F2P title. There's no other monetization other than the sale of the game.

I watched the livestream a few days ago and asked some questions, but didn't get any answers. I'm still not quite clear on how the public servers are supposed to work regarding character progression, possessions, and building. I understand you can have single player worlds which also allow co-op and you can build to your hearts content and collect all the things. How does that work on public servers though? My understanding is they're limited to 40 people. Do I login to the same server every time and my character, stuff and buildings are all saved there? What if that server is full?
