Halo: Campaign Evolved hits No. 5 on Steam's best-sellers chart as scalpers list collector's edition for hundreds on eBay
Halo: Campaign Evolved continues its strong start on Steam while collector's edition listings begin appearing on eBay at inflated prices.
Halo: Campaign Evolved has had more details revealed, with a July 28, 2026 release date now confirmed, alongside a five-day early access period for those who purchase the Premium Edition.
The game itself looks pretty impressive, far more impressive than I expected, at least. As a lifelong Halo fan, I was a bit anxious and wasn't entirely sold on the game's first reveal, but this latest look has definitely made me feel much better about it.
It seems I'm not the only one who's impressed, either. The game has quickly climbed Steam's Top Sellers chart, currently sitting at No. 7, or No. 5 if you exclude the free-to-play title above it.
Honestly, it's great to see the game performing so well. It also marks the second Xbox title in Steam's Top Sellers chart, with Forza Horizon 6 continuing to hold the No. 1 spot.
Back to Halo, though, my partner managed to secure the Halo: Campaign Evolved Collector's Edition for my birthday next month, and it seems I'm not the only one eager to get my hands on it. Scalpers are already driving up prices on resale sites like eBay, with some listings exceeding $600.
It's things like that which really spoil it for people like us who are genuine fans. Hopefully, those who want the Collector's Edition are still able to get their hands on one as I did.
I'm really excited for Halo: Campaign Evolved. The prequel missions featuring Sgt. Johnson look great, and they're definitely what I'm looking forward to most. We do get some details on them; Halo Studios says:
"Set one year before the events of Halo: Combat Evolved, Operation: METEORITE follows the Master Chief and Sergeant Avery Johnson as they infiltrate a Covenant agricultural ship holding orbit over the glassed human colony of Promise in search of data that could lead to the Covenant's fabled homeworld of High Charity.Over the course of three action-packed missions, the heroic duo must battle Sacristan warriors, liberate UNSC marines, and brave a series of bizarre experiments conducted under the watchful gaze of the mysterious San’Shyuum Minister of Harmony."
As I said, I'm excited, and the prequel missions sound great, but maybe that's just me. Let me know what you think of what we've seen so far, whether you're planning to pick up the Collector's Edition, and any thoughts you have on the game in general.
