Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 topped the US sales charts in November 2025 — but it's down compared to Black Ops 6

Activision's yearly blockbuster once again topped the sales charts for its debut month in the U.S, according to Circana executive director and analyst Mat Piscatella, who shared the latest numbers in a threat on Bluesky.

Per Piscatella, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 was the best-selling game of November 2025 in the U.S, marking the 18th year in a row that a Call of Duty game has been the best-selling title of its launch month.

Even so, Black Ops 7 is down a "double-digit" percentage compared to Call of Duty: Black Ops in November 2024, and is currently the #7 best-selling game of the year.

It's also worth noting that this is the second year in a row that a new Call of Duty game has launched in Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscription tiers. Piscatella noted that subscription spending is up 16% for the month year-over-year, keeping with a trend that's been consistent throughout 2025.

Following in second place for the month is Electronic Arts' Battlefield 6, which remains the best-selling game of the year overall.

Hardware sales for the month were also down significantly year-over-year, while overall video game spending for the month reached $5.8 billion, down 4% year-over-year.

Below, you'll see the best-selling games of November 2025 and the year so far. As always, Circana tracks game sales through dollar amounts, not copies sold. Some publishers like Ubisoft do not share digital data, while others like Larian Studios don't share any data at all.

Where will Call of Duty be as the year closes?

I'll be absolutely fascinated to get the next round of numbers from Piscatella, as well as any other details on how Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 performed as 2025 draws to a close.

Earlier in the month, Activision published an update, confirming that the Call of Duty franchise will no longer see back-to-back entries in the Black Ops and Modern Warfare sub-series.
