Gwent gets Midwinter Update featuring hundreds of new cards and other improvements

The Midwinter Update is available for download now on Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4. Gwent is a card game found in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. It gives you and your opponent a set of cards which simulate battles. You must use certain warriors at the right time to win. Gwent got a standalone experience a few months ago but since then many gamers have been asking for a single-player expansion. While this may seem like an odd request, The Witcher lore is so vast that a lot of stories can be told through it.

According to the developer, the Midwinter Update adds more than a hundred cards to the game, many of which have new abilities and gameplay mechanics sure to shake things up on the battlefield. The update also introduces the story-driven Midwinter Hunt. The Midwinter Hunt stars Geralt of Rivia as he faces a new set of challenges. Succeeding in the Midwinter Hunt rewards players with a themed avatar, frame, and title.

This update not only features new cards, but it also adds a daily quest system and a significant revamp of certain features. For example, a new deck builder is available as well as a new and card replacement screen. The update also improves the game's visuals a little bit. You can view the complete patch notes on the game's website.
