  • LOLLLL :P
  • Both the 730 and the 830 look great. But After watching the DevPreV of Android L on my brother's Nexux 5 I am confused if I Go and buy one of these or wait for Android L device. Guys plz help me. Should I wait for Android L of continue with WP? P.S.- I have owned L 520(than gave it to my Mom) and L920 and I loved both the devices:-)
  • Depends on your needs?
  • Best continue with windows is, for me it is better after compared with android;
  • I might buy this for my mom. She's still using an HTC Titan.
  • Finally my Lumia 620 ... Replacer..
  • I'd choose Lumia 830 with that 10MP camera ;)
  • Yeah, me too. 830 looks better to me overall! :)
  • But it is quiet a bit more money to spend. I will also replace my 620 with this one only not sure if I'm going for LTE or DS model.
  • Was thinking of this to replace my 620 too. But don't like the black hole that's left at the bottom by moving the buttons to soft ones on screen, but keeping the old space there. I understand the reasoning to easier port WP for manufacturers with android designs but Nokia/MS could have kept designing "proper" WP designs.
  • ^^ this...also i cant afford 730 as well... so i bought Xolo Q900s. also they say available this month...i m sure wont come to India before November...only things i will miss in Xolo is Nokia software Suite which i hardly need. Not a camera/ imaging buff, no use for Nokia drive as well . probably will miss the glance screen
  • Reason I m not taking xolo is lack of here maps, transit and drive beta+ ... Nd google heartily hate for windows .. So no proper navigation apps .. Also enhancers like sunlight readability, glance, Nokia music
  • Here maps = microsoft maps (same database) M-Indicator for Mumbai > NokiaTransit  Dont know Drive + alternate as i have no use for it. Nokia definitely has best sunlight readability but dont know about xolo screen as not used it. Yeah glance will be missed Nokia Music... Hmmm... carry offline music -_-
  • R u sure here maps and Bing maps have same database as here maps are still owned by Nokia .. And they are making apps for android and ios too -_-
  • It would have been my 620 replacement too, if it had the HAAC microphones that the 830 includes. Shame; i wish i could spend less. I need a new phone, but since the 620 had the HAAC mics, i can't go back now. Too great to be at a concert and take clearly audible recordings without the blow-out.
  • What are HAAC mics? :-o
  • They are nice if you record at concerts. Without them all you hear is bass.
  • +730. I'm in.
  • Although not in the article, I can only assume 1GB of RAM?
  • Yes
  • Heck yes!!!! Good dual sim phones. MS is trying to really close any gaps in the choices people have, give a phone that fits everyone!
  • It backcase looks too shiny..
  • Agreed! Which are the matte colours? That gloss looks garish
  • The dark gray is definetly matt. And the green one in the background of the video also looks matt to me.
  • you need a 730/735, guessing from your display picture... :p
  • I'm a selfie addict and I can not lie. :(
  • I'm not sure people want to see my frant, so a "frant facing" camera is no good to me. Lololllollol
  • Ummm... I have Lumia 925, is this worth upgrading?
  • no, the camera is worse. at least go for 830
  • There's no new features on the Lumia 730 that you don't already have on your Lumia 925. If you get the 730, you'll lose Dolby sound enhancer, PureView camera, hardware camera button, and 3 capacitive buttons (back, start, search). But of course, you do get to upgrade to a low end quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor. It's not really an upgrade as far as I'm concerned, since benchmarks are rating the processor on the 1020 (Snapdragon S4 Plus, same as 925) to be faster than 630 (Snapdragon 400, same as 730 and 830)
  • really impress with nokia lumia 730    a beautiful design  and  windowsphone 8.1 denim
  • I don't know why you keep adding the 15 gigs pf one drive as specs for memory. It can only be used if internet connected. Otherwise, useless. I am just sayin'.
  • Well my genius friend is the situation different with other phones? Do you get 15gb of free cloud space with other phones? And how many people own a smartphon and don't have and internet conection?
  • Yes, they could have the free 15GB by getting an Outlook account, installing OneDrive on their Android or iOS and switch on the auto-upload. OneDrive app on other platform is much better too. I am having problems with OneDrive on my 520 and 920, it won't upload all of the pictures I've taken. Very unreliable.
  • Stupid selfie shit, but still I really like the L735 :)
  • I cannot stand on screen navigation buttons, just think it's cheap and nasty. I hope this doesn't become standard for all Lumias eventually
  • I have a L630. I don't like the on screen navigation buttons either. I wonder why MS changed it.
  • It's cost cutting. Because they don't have to produce actual physical buttons they save money
  • One if cost cutting and another reason is so WP OS can be ported over to Android devices. I personally like the look of on screen buttons and I have a Lumia 930. I sometimes end up slipping and pressing the buttons which can exit apps or start up other apps and this is especially annoying when I'm trying to record video. If the 930 had onscreen buttons, then this wouldn't happen and they could easily be hidden and brought back up when I need them.
  • my parents have the 635 with onscreen buttons and to be fair it makes no difference! they feel the same. the only issue is you loose some of the screen. but on these at least you can remove them or decide how to use the navigation buttons.
  • You don't really lose screen on the 635. It has additional pixels for the buttons. I like the onscreen buttons.
  • You do because the aspect ratio is meant to be 16:9. It's not with the buttons. It's a bit like the Nokia n9 with no buttons was 16:9 and the L800 had buttons replacing the 50 odd pixels making it shorter
  • On screen navigation buttons aren't going to become standard on all Lumias, they'll be on low/mid end phones but not high end.
  • good phone price is higher other way great phone
  • no dolby.. :( No camera button :( And no headphone in box ;( :D :D :D
  • Well, it's a selfie camera; I liked the 720 concept of a camera centric mid-ranger better, and would have preferred the 10 mp camera and OIS...
  • I might be mistaken, but aren't you describing the 830?
  • Phone looks extremely good! Finally a good replacement for my Lumia 720. And Daniel's haircut looks good too! lol!
  • OLED display and I can't see Glance in the Settings. Wonder if from now on no AMOLED Nokia phone can have Glance support... :\
  • I prefer 830
  • the design is almost exactly like 920. the difference is at the camera lens.
  • No carl zeus... Gonna replace my 720 with 830
  • The 730 has Carl Zeiss optics.
  • Since the 830 has a 5mp front camera as well, why can't it be a selfie phone too?
  • 830 has 1mp front camera
  • Dont think so. it is at 5mp like Aashish said. atleast thats what the articles at wpc and verge say..
  • From the Nokia Specs: Secondary camera PMDM SEC CAMERA: HD 0.9 MP wide angle  Secondary camera f-number/aperture: f/2.4
  • You are really pushing out these articles and videos fast. Awesome work!
  • Despise the lack of camera button and soft keys.
  • Most people don't care though.
  • Lumia 730 would be my next phone.. Amazing specification at an affordable price..
  • America?
  • Gonna still use my 720
  • I guess, the 15 Gb on OneDrive is not limited just to Lumia 735. And is the front camera fixed-focus or an auto one? And by the way, you misspelled 'front' :D
  • I believe it is auto focus. Or I deduced it, in the presentation they stated your selfies would no longer be out of focus.
  • I'm not into the selfie thing, still it's good to know that it will have an auto-focus camera, many will appreciate that :D
  • where's the selfie!?
  • Spelling error "Frant facing camera"...lolz
  • Do either the 730 or 830 come with inbuilt compass?  I have a 520 atm and the only thing it lacks, for my needs at least, is a compass.
  • Ah, apparently it does. http://www.nokia.com/global/products/phone/lumia730-dual-sim/specificati... The page didn't seem to be up when I asked the question.
  • oh no, no camera button!!
  • Sorry YouTube is banned here
  • How dare you daniel review the selfie phone without taking a selfie! You could have shown us your best angle with your new haircut!
  • I know this is a weak reason to not like this, but I need interchangeable backs... I love the green and orange on my 635, but I need the white option for business meetings and whatnot. I can rock a green phone 24/7
  • the backside is removable, you can pop it off by preesing the camera lens on the back
  • That's the 830. The 730 is very clearly a solid piece of plastic. Posted via the Windows Phone Central App for Android
  • No actually the back of the 735 is removable. They are going to be selling wireless charging shells in grey, green, and orange. I imagine the back of the 730 is removable as well, it just doesn't have the wireless charging option.
  • Of man... If that's true, I'm sold. You're getting me excited now. Posted via the Windows Phone Central App for Android
  • The wireless shells are on this page... http://conversations.nokia.com/2014/09/04/more-accessories-for-morelumia/
  • Sold.
  • On screen buttons look ugly sitting on top of a black physical bezel. I think the black physical bezel should go, but the on screen buttons should replace it on the same size and position. That way you can make the phone screen bigger when hiding the on screen buttons.
  • I can't understand why Nokia 830 is €130 more expensive. The internal memory and camera don't matter to me. And the 4.7 oled seems better than the 5 ips display. No kidding. Posted via the Windows Phone Central App for Android
  • Couldn't agree more. Cameras almost offset. So biggest dif is 8 vs 16gb onboard. With microSD slot is it really worth the extra cash? 830 shoulda had s600...
  • I hope they get them out asap, so that me and some Greek friends can get it on our shaky hands! :P
  • How is the battery almost as big as my Icons'.... I'm so confused.
  • The battery is 2200 mAh. The Lumia Icon has a 2420 mAh battery afaik. So it's almost as big.
  • Can I have a phone with 1520 specs with dual 4G LTE Sim please?
  • Hey, please what weather app was on display on the Lumia 720 on the video ?
  • Gotta admit WP is definitely becoming mature with every passing day and whenever I feel like its lacking somewhere I just visit WPC and I am able to find million reasons why its better than any other...
  • 735 should be a nice upgrade from my aging N9. Only thing missing is glance..
  • I like the fabula design. It makes polycarbonate look well.
  • I may grab one as my first WP... Looks really nice. Posted via WPCentral App.
  • The 735 sounds like it'll be my 720 replacement :) I must be the only person who prefers soft keys (I'm always accidently hitting my keys) and the lack of camera button doesn't bother me as I only use it to open the app. I have 2 questions about this phone though: Can it use the project my screen setting through WiFi? And is it possible to reduce the number of columns on the start screen to 2?
  • When are they going to release a Lumia with LED notification???
  • Fabulous phone. Would be the perfect upgrade for my L520.
  • No one will buy this, it had no glance... What were they thinking ?
  • no glance? no problem!
  • no camera bottun, i won't buy it
  • This phone would do really well. I am afraid same cannot be said for 830
  • Fantastically well-rounded device for its category. It should sell even better than 720 IMHO.
  • any idea when this would be available in india ? what is the expected priceS?

One more thing when I try selfi photo my face is not looking correct center angle it's looking cross my eye and cross my face what i can do please help
  • Why the Lumia 730 doesn't have the GLANCE? Any specific reason?
  • the selfie phone love it
  • I have a Nokia Lukia 730,having previously had a 635.There appears a problem with my front action page, concerning the phone and text notifications. When I receive a new phone call unanswered or a text message,a number appears in the phone or text section notifying me.But after viewing the call or text message, the same number appears.I have tried the text messages,so that I have none showing, but it still shows a number in the front box, which is confusing as well as frustrating.
