Pier Solar and Geometry Wars 3 Twitch stream

Yesterday we kicked off our holiday week of Xbox One Twitch streams by showcasing platforming games Kalimba and Thomas Was Alone. Tonight at 8pm Central (9pm Eastern, 6pm Pacific) we continue with the game-playing festivities, showcasing two recently released Xbox One titles.

First we'll stream Pier Solar and the Great Architects, a beautiful retro Role-Playing Game (RPG) from ID@Xbox developer Watermelon. After that, we'll stream Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions. The latest in the twin-stick shooting series that started on Xbox comes from Lucid Games and Activision's Sierra label.

The stream has ended, and a good time was had by all. Read on to check out the archive videos and contest winners!

Pier Solar

Play as a young boy who must save his father from a mysterious illness. He'll team up with his two best friends and head out on an adventure as they search for a cure to the disease. Originally released a few years ago on the Sega Genesis, Pier Solar has now been remade with enhanced graphics and sound. If you're a fan of Japanese-style RPGs, you won't want to miss this one.

The Contest

We'll be streaming Pier Solar and Geometry Wars 3 for a total of two hours, starting at 8pm Central (9pm Eastern, 6pm Pacific). During that time, we'll be giving out:

  • 5 Xbox Live credits for $5
  • 1 Xbox Live Gold 1-month subscription

To enter, just follow me at Twitch.tv/Eastxtwitch and tune in during the stream. You can watch the stream right here in this post, but you need to actually participate in the stream chat to have a chance at winning. We'll deliver codes to the winners via Twitch message (PM) during the stream. No code begging!

What's the best way to experience Twitch? If you don't have a PC, you can get the Xbox One or Xbox 360 Twitch app and watch from the comfort of your couch. Or grab the unofficial app Livegaming for Windows Phone. It has plenty of great features, including the ability to chat along with your fellow viewers. Unfortunately you'll have to add our channel to your favorites from the Twitch website, outside of the app.

I'll be available for a few minutes before and after the stream if you have any questions or just want to say hi. If you enjoy the stream, I'd love for you to tune in to future streams. For now, we'll do one every weekend, with a few non-contest streams throughout the week.

Contest schedule

Want to know what's next for Windows Central's weekly Twitch streaming contests? Tomorrow we'll follow up with two more hot new downloadable titles. Then this weekend we'll stream our first horror game!

  • Next week: Tales from the Borderlands Episode 1 and more!

Mark your calendar and tune in those days for your chance to win each game on Xbox One (and sometimes other platforms)!
