What you need to know

  • Twitch has suspended President Donald Trump's account for hateful conduct.
  • The length of the ban has not been disclosed.
  • Twitch reiterated that politicians are subject to its Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

The new statement specifically cited comments from the president's recent rally in Tulsa, where he mentioned a "very tough hombre" breaking into a woman's home, and an except for a recently rebroadcast 2016 campaign event where Trump said "When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best. They're not sending you. They're not sending you. They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."

Twitch has not announced the length of Trump's ban. The move comes just days after the platform issued a round of other high profile suspensions.
