Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl is delayed to Dec. 8, 2022, GSC Game World confirmed via Twitter on Wednesday. Stalker 2 was previously slated to arrive on April 28, 2022, meaning it's been delayed by around seven months.
"These additional seven months of development are needed to fulfill our vision and achieve the desired state of the game," the update explains. The developers added that the game is undergoing "thorough testing and polishing" and that more of the game will be shown later in the year, so players can expect additional updates before launch.
The developers previously planned to implement NFTs, or Non-Fungible Tokens, around the game, something that was quickly pulled after player backlash.
Welcome to the Zone
Good hunting, stalker...
STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl will be full of dangerous threats, both human and supernatural. Additionally, there will be several factions to consider joining and there's also going to be a sprawling non-linear story to enjoy. Are you ready to enter the Zone?
Bummer, but given how little we've actually seen of the game it lines up
Nooooo! Well, I guess now I have time to complete Metro Exodus before it's release.
No!!!! That's even longer than the rumor! While I am disappointed, please make it right.
/shrug... Lots to do on game pass in the meantime. Make it good, make it right, that's all that matters.
Has *any* Unreal 5 game shipped yet?
Earliest scheduled now?
Hellblade 2, maybe? Not sure what else is coming using UE5.
I think REDFALL is earliest UE5 on schedule.
If that slips we'll know why...
STARFIELD is in debugging stage and it's scheduled for november so REDFALL should be nearing completion.
Looking forward to see a game in ur5
Tech demos have a dubious history.
Is this going to be another Cyberpunk fiasco?
