With the addition of USB Type-C, Wi-Fi 6, and Intel 10th Gen processors the Surface Laptop 3 13.5 delivers a solid follow up to the Surface Laptop 2. Between the optional Alcantara, ability to get the laptop serviced including SSD upgrades, Instant On, and the hugely improved trackpad Microsoft has created again one of the most enjoyable laptops to use. The Surface Laptop 3 15 is a slightly larger version of the 13.5-inch model, but it also features an AMD processor and graphics. Unfortunately, it's far from a powerful laptop, and without Alcantara, it feels like an odd addition to the Surface family. Omissions like Wi-Fi 6, an SD card reader, and a more modern display keep us from loving this otherwise gorgeous laptop.
The least expensive option at $1,000 includes an Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB RAM, a 256GB solid state drive, and a 13.5-inch touchscreen. The specs only get better from there including upgrades to a 15-inch screen, 1TB SSDs, and more.
Microsoft is coming out with a new Surface Laptop, but how does it compare to the current Surface Laptop 3? If you're in the market for a new notebook, we've compared the Surface Laptop 4 and the Surface Laptop 3 to show you which is a better buy.
There's a 3-day sale going on at Best Buy right now that includes Surface devices, Xbox and PC games, and plenty of accessories. The sale ends on February 21, so make sure to check it out before it goes away.
A new firmware update is available for the Surface Laptop 3 with AMD. The update includes several bug fixes and improvements. As is usually the case for firmware updates, it does not include any new features.
The Surface Laptop 3 is a stunning notebook that also has a fairly high price tag attached to it, so you're going to want to keep it safe. Grabbing a good case or sleeve for the times you're moving around with your precious laptop will ensure it stays looking good and damage-free.
