Telstra confirms Mango release in the next 2 weeks

Not that we thought Microsoft was lying, nor doubted the earlier report that Telstra had already approved the Mango update, but it's still nice to see a carrier with this much transparency. Yes, for our friends down under, your beloved Telstra will begin rolling out Mango updates within the next two weeks.

Not much else to say on the matter, we suppose, just that Mango is afoot. That and it looks like Microsoft is attempting a near-simultaneous global roll out. Impressive if it happens.

  • Anyone else wish companies would stop making announcements over Twitter and write an actual press release?Twitter just doesn't seem, I don't know, classy. :p
  • Honestly it doesnt get any more "immediate" than twitter
  • no one uses their own websites anymore. .com are classier than twitter but its the part here people can 'follow' you and websites weakness is in that area. the only thing people can do is 'subscribe to newsletter' but checking emails is just a hassle nowadays. i hate twitter.
  • so Fall technically starts in 2 weeks? ugh!!
  • No, but 2 weeks is in fall, so its just like MS said all along.
  • Likely it will be in the 2nd of the 2 weeks, right? Otherwise they would say "within the next week".
  • Damn the update i want the Titan. A Mango update on my HD7 is useless to me honestly. Can really use the Mango to the fullest with old hardware.
  • Why? Mango works fine on my LG Optimus 7!I can wait one more year, 'till I get a 3rd gen. WP.
  • Yes, you can. Mango flies on my Omnia 7, and same with HD7 and Optimus 7 of my parents.
  • Well done Telstra - on the front foot again (in this regard) - will post on Telstra on my blog soon re: some other issues !!!But - a positive step. Remember also, they have waited for MS to officially announce the "couple of weeks" timing - so again they have made sure they met their end of any NDA b/w MS and themselves over release timings...+100 :)
  • "Beloved Telstra" lol
  • In two weeks??? cant understand whats stopping MS from rolling out mango, apple's releasing their update on Oct4, why should MS be second always... shame on you MS.
  • Hahahahaha, Telstra is the most non-transparent company in the whole of Australia. Their rip off deals and vague descriptions are what make them Telstra.
  • beloved? someone doesnt know a thing about telstra :P
  • All you Aussie folks complaining about Telstra...you ever hear of a monstrosity called AT&T? Or it's ugly brother, Verizon? Yeah...trust me, Telstra is transparent compared to those two. :-P
  • Telstra is great!! You pay a premium for a top service, you just dont get timely patches/updates/roms from this premium :PGlad to see they are one of the first few to announce its coming and ready! Thats a great show of progress on there part. Just pray to god they keep it up..
