Where were you when you first played an Elder Scrolls game? I vividly remember walking to my friend's house and seeing their brother play The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. Sneaking around, stealing things off bookshelves, hopping everywhere to raise his character's Acrobatics skill. I couldn't wait to get my hands on a copy.

Today is the 25th anniversary of The Elder Scrolls, and to celebrate, Bethesda is giving Morrowind away for free. For one day only, you can enter code TES25TH-MORROWIND on your Bethesda account to redeem the offer. The game will be applied directly to your account.

A description of the game reads: The Lost Prophecies speak of the Incarnate, a reincarnation of the Dunmer hero Nerevar, arriving in Morrowind to rid the land of a dark curse. To fulfill this prophecy, the Emperor sends an unknown and uncertain imperial courier to the island of Vvardenfell. Through a series of dangerous and magical quests, this unknown courier is transformed into one of the Empire's most enduring heroes.

The title may have been released in 2002, and the graphics may be a bit potato-esque, but I can't wait to get back to it. While we wait for the release of The Elder Scrolls: Blades, which is currently in closed beta, and hope for a hint of The Elder Scrolls 6 at E3 2019 (also, COME ON, STARFIELD!) , this freebie should help tide us over. Just remember that it expires tonight.
