Treat yourself with Dessert Recipes

As Fitness Month comes to an end, we thought we'd offer a Windows Phone app that might come in handy when you want to stray from that healthy menu and indulge in a calorie busting, decadent dessert.

Dessert Recipes is such an app that will offer up recipes for cakes, pies, cheesecakes, puddings, cookies and other tasty treats that will blow your daily calorie count through the roof.

Dessert Recipes is laid out in a tempting fashion with dessert recipes spread out across pages categorizing the desserts. You have a page for cakes, cookies and mousses, cheesecakes, and a muffins/pies page. In tapping the individual recipe, your ingredient list and preparation steps will be pulled up.

All totaled there are about sixty dessert recipes listed with Dessert Recipes. While we found Dessert Recipes to be a nice app, there is room for improvement. For starters, the interface is extremely sensitive to the touch. More times than not a swipe was registered as a tap, sending me to the recipe instead of scrolling across the main pages.

While the recipes were very thorough in listing the ingredients and preparation steps, there was no way to share the recipes via email, SMS or other means. Lastly, you can't zoom in on the recipe page. It would be a nice touch for to be able to zoom into things to better read the fine print.

Overall, Dessert Recipes offers a nice selection of dessert treats for those times you want to throw caution to the wind and take a break from counting calories. It is a free app and you can find Dessert Recipes here in the (opens in new tab) Windows Phone Store.

  • Perfect for health month.
  • You meant perfect for the month AFTER health month, in which you eat yourself into a food coma.
  • If there's any question whether the ecosystem argument is valid, just look to your daily fugly app review from WPCentral.
  • You can always sell your phone and move on to that fashion statement known as Android.
  • As much as I love WP, Androids are far from fashion statements.
  • Android has many attractive apps, really. Windows Phone has too, but I'd say the average app in both ecosystems are pretty rough from an aesthetic viewpoint. Sorry developer, I know you probably worked hard on the app, but please please look at design material that is available on the web, or hire a designer.
  • I am experiencing lot of issues after I bought wpcentral
