Tweetium now supports Twitter's 280-character limit
Now you, too, can enjoy the glorious feeling of 280-character tweets with the latest update to Tweetium.

If Tweetium is your Twitter app of choice on Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile, you can now double the length of your tweets.. With its latest update, Tweetium has added support for Twitter's newer 280-character limit on tweets.

Twitter started rolling out the larger tweet length back in November, so Tweetium is a bit late to the party. Still, it's a change that's better late than never, if Tweetium is your preferred way to take to the Twittersphere on your Windows device. Funnily enough, Tweetium has also beaten Twitter to the punch, as the official Twitter app for Windows 10 still doesn't support composing 280-character tweets.
The expanded tweet length is rolling out now in Tweetium version 4.2.1, available for both Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile. If you're new to Tweetium, the app is available for $2.99 or as a free trial.

I love Tweetium. Would be nice to have an equivalent Instagram client with a rolling grid type of layout instead of a vertical list. It just uses the available real estate so much better.

Good idea, i don't think I've seen a lot like that.

Try InstaPic

Why doesn't the Twitter app for Windows support the new limit?
-
They don't care about their Windows users.
-
Speculation has it Twitter is slowly ditching its app efforts to be replaced by PWA model. Phones will be updated for a bit, but even Twitter for macOS was last updated over 6 months ago and is still 140 too.

Makes sense, if it's working great, and feels like a native app.
-
The official Twitter app for Windows 10 still doesn't support it

Great app, worth getting

How come my Tweetium version is 4.2.501 (higher than the recent update)?
