The US Bank has released a Windows Phone app for customers who own a Cash+ Visa Signature Card to enjoy. The app provides access to apply for and manage said cards, earning up to 5% cash back on selected goodies (whether it be restaurants, department stores, or electronic stores, etc. - two categories are chosen by customers).
Should you complete the application process using the app and have been approved, a temporary virtual card can be loaded onto you Windows Phone. This virtual card can be used every time you shop online. The temporary e-card is available for 30 days, or until the plastic card is activated - whichever comes first.
Here are some benefits outlined in the app description of the US Bank Cash+ Visa Signature Card:
- U.S. Bank Cash+ Visa Signature Card: A paperless credit card application. Everything you do is 100% secure.
- INSTANT CREDIT: You will know within minutes if you’re approved, so you can shop online instantly.
- MY U.S. Bank Cash+ Card account: Access and manage your U.S. Bank Cash+ Visa Signature Card account anywhere, anytime.
For cash back:
- Earn 5% cash back on two categories that you choose like restaurants, department stores, electronic stores…plus many more.
- Earn 2% cash back on gas, groceries or drug stores – choose one.
- Earn 1% cash back on everything else.
There are terms and conditions (as is the case with any card issued by such an establishment), so be sure to read up and do your homework before venturing out with the app and card at hand. As an example, it's stated customers must enrol each quarter into categories of their choice, or all net purchases will earn no more than 1% cash back. Be sure to keep an eye out on how to best use the offers available.
So what about the app itself? It's well presented and appears to be functional enough for customers to manage their card while on the go. Early reviews have given Cash+ Visa Card a relatively high rating.
You can download Cash+ Visa Card from the Windows Phone Store. Thanks, Eric, for the heads up!

and yet they still haven't released an app that might be useful, like a BANKING app. They've released a wealth management app, and now this Cash+ visa crap, but I still have to use their TERRIBLE mobile website to view my account status/balances.
Would pageonce work 4 u, just to view?
Is this like square app or just another bank app???
No it's nothing like that. Visa Cash+ is a special type of Credit Card that US Bank offers. This app is a way to manage that account, nothing more. Pretty useless in my opinion :/
Thanx for the answer
Who wants card. Make fricken bank app
When will banks make an app for Wallet and NFC? That's what we are waiting for.
Exactly... There is no need to give apple this advantage. Proof that we can't utilize NFC... Shame!:(
Yes that would be wonderful, but don't you need a special wallet enabled sim to use nfc payments? I could be wrong on this but I thought carriers also had to support it.
Installed the app, applied, got "data verification failure." Pfft.
Come on banks!!!
Stop even trying at this point. Just use MS Wallet. MS has dealt with internet security for YEARS. And while they are hardly perfect, I will trust their security measures over the bank security any day of the week! Let MS provide the security via their Wallet protocolls, and then all the bank needs to do is hire some college student to make a simple front end.
Whatever bank gets this done right first will be the bank I will switch to. And if MS and the carriers are not able to get their act together by the time my contract is up in 22 months then I will switch to Android. Mobile banking is simply that important. My phone with a simple pin password on it is way more secure than a credit card that can be stolen and used right away. Even if I have to change my habbits I will do so if it means that all I have to cary with me is my phone, drivers liscense, and keys.
Hear, hear! I totally agree
That seems like a good rewards card + they have a WP app. You can't seem to apply for it online as they direct you to a branch but you can though the app. Will have to check it out.
