What you need to know
- Social connections are now an option inside the Xbox (Beta) app.
- The app can now connect to Twitch, Steam, YouTube, and other social media platforms.
- The feature was first announced at E3 but appeared in the app recently.
Users of the Xbox (Beta) app can now connect the app to social media accounts, including Twitch, Steam, YouTube, and Twitter. The feature was first announced at E3 2019 but appeared inside the app recently for users. This feature makes it easier for players to find friends that also have Xbox Live gamertags.
The Xbox (Beta) app is a major overhaul of the Xbox experience on PCs. We went hands-on with the Xbox (Beta) app earlier this Summer, and our Senior Gaming Editor, Jez Corden, said "It's very early days, still in a beta phase, but it's already far superior to the regular Windows 10 Microsoft Store for browsing PC games."
