Service outage: Xbox LIVE friends busted on Windows Phone

Bad news if you're playing Xbox LIVE on Windows Phone right now or want to see your friends and what they're up to, you'll be having some problems with the system. Specifically, if you check your friend's list on the phone, you'll get the result in the above image. We've been following this in our forums today and now Microsoft has put out a service message:

Users may experience difficulties with the following services:

  • Windows Phone 7 users will experience issues when attempting to post or read statistics to leaderboards, view or receiving messages, and viewing their friends.

We are aware of the problem and are working to resolve the issue. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience

These little outages happen on occasion so we're not too worried, but we figured we would keep you folks updated so you don't freak out too much. Hopefully it'll all be back up soon.

Thanks to our forum admin, Dave, for the heads up
