Last year, the Xbox One launched with a graphical tour-de-force racing game known as Forza Motorsport 5. This year, Microsoft and developer and developer Playground Games (plus Sumo Digital, who handled the Xbox 360 version) have returned with the more approachable, open world spin-off Forza Horizon 2.

The new Horizon improves upon Forza 5's gorgeous graphics engine and photorealistic cars, creating the best looking racer yet. Players drive across southern Europe solo or online, exploring the countryside and participating in hundreds of events at their leisure. You won't find another racing game with Forza Horizon 2's sense of exploration and adventure. The Xbox One is the new kid on the block as gaming consoles go, so it's still building up a library of quality accessories. Headsets are one area with a fair degree of choice, though I'm still waiting on Microsoft to create an Xbox One wireless headset standard. But we have looked at several headsets in a buyer's guide, and you can sometimes find deals on the official Stereo Headset.

We'll soon have a new quality wired headset to look forward to thanks to popular gaming accessory manufacturer SteelSeries. The company just announced the SteelSeries Siberia headset family. This new product line consists of four distinctive gaming headsets that range in price from $60-$200. Besides sharp looks and the promise of equally sharp sound, at least one Siberia headset model looks like it will come packaged with an Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter.

Cops is a retro styled Windows Phone arcade game that has pixelated, monotone graphics and mildly challenging game play. You play the role of one of the most wanted criminals and have to navigate through the nine platform styled gaming levels.

You can run, jump and shoot your way through all the coppers who are determined to throw you in the big house. Along with the run of the mill street cops, you will also have to face off with two bosses.

Reminiscent of the old GameBoy, or maybe even the Commodore 64 video games, Cops does have a certain level of appeal and is available for low-memory devices.

You know, the Xbox One controller is pretty great. It features a much superior d-pad to that of the Xbox 360's, and unparalleled rumble in the trigger buttons to boot. On the other hand, the bumper buttons are a step back from the 360's, and will never be as responsive as you'd want in a game like Killer Instinct.

A company called Console Tuner is on the case. They have engineered a USB peripheral called the Titan One that lets you use Playstation 4 controllers with the Xbox One, and vice versa. In fact, you can even use Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and pretty much any USB controller on your modern consoles. You have to admit, that sounds like an especially useful accessory.

Blizzard has started talking about plans for the next expansion to it's free-to-play digital trading card game Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft. The game's first add-on, Curse of Naxxramas, arrived earlier this year with a new single-player campaign, but the upcoming new content would be a full expansion, with over 100 new cards for everyone to play with. While Naxxramus was designed with a single-player focus, Hearthstone's first expansion will have something for new and veteran players, according to Polygon:

Run Down is a fast paced, arcade styled game of survival where you have to control a falling ball and make sure it never reaches the top of the screen. Call it a reverse jumper game for Windows Phone.

It's a game of survival with simple controls, three difficulty levels and a handful of ball styles to choose from. Run Down isn't an overly complicated game but has it's fair share of challenges. The game is available for low-memory devices and Run Down isn't a bad gaming option to have in your Windows Phone gaming library for the times you need a little help burning a few minutes.

Microsoft has published a new documentary on Xbox One looking into the world of Interactive Gateway, a UK-based games studio behind the title Spectra. Louis Deane and his colleagues talk about how the startup joined the Microsoft Ventures accelerator and how the game itself came to be. If you're not familiar with Spectra, it's a retro arcade-style racing game, which makes good use of an awesome soundtrack to produce a procedurally generated experience.

Bouncing Sheep is an arcade styled Windows Phone game where you drop sheep down on to a flock of birds to take them out. The storyline has your sheep peacefully enjoying the quiet of the pasture when a bunch of noisy birds invades the rolling hills.

The game includes dozens of levels to play that are spread across three landscapes (the Hills, Beach and Desert), plenty of power-ups to help you defeat the birds and decent graphics. Available for low-memory devices, Bouncing Sheep's game play reminds me of the old Pachinko games.

In playing Bouncing Sheep on and off for the past few days, I can see the appeal the game could have as an entertaining time waster of a game.

We mentioned Trivia Crack being released in the Windows Phone Store last week and had the opportunity to spend some time with the game to see how well it shook out. Trivia Crack is an online trivia game, very similar in nature to the popular Trivial Pursuit games.

You have six categories of questions to test your knowledge against and a few power-ups (life lines) to help nudge you in the right direction. Answer three questions in a category to try to win a crown and win all six crowns you win the match.

Available for low-memory devices, Trivia Crack isn't a bad choice of games but it felt more like a work in progress than a polished final product.

If you don't like scary movies, this game is probably not for you. Knock-Knock (knock.ice-pick.com) started from Kickstarter, and then made its way to desktop and mobile devices. You play as an insomniac Lodger that basically needs to survive until the sun comes out. I have to admit that I've turned off my phone several times while playing this game.

Take a look at the official trailer to give you a good idea of what to expect.

Last week, we broke the news that Gameloft's Asphalt Overdrive would soon be launching, which it did just a few days larer. Asphalt Overdrive is a new take on the Asphalt series, with simplified controls and endless races. It's still just as fast and beautiful as you'd expect from an Asphalt game though, with plenty of familiar series touches.

Overdrive is free to play like Asphalt 8, and a much smaller download (though it downloads more data after you launch it). It works on all Windows Phone 8 devices, but it does require a constant internet connection. Read on for some quick impressions and our hands-on video, and then be sure to try it for yourself and join the WPCentral gang!

Canyon Capers is a retro styled arcade platform Windows Phone game that has you guiding your players across fifty levels of play, collecting gems and treasures while ducking and dodging dangerous creatures.

Graphics have that early 1990's feel and while some may find game play uneventful, the game does grow on you. Available for low-memory devices, Canyon Capers isn't a bad option to consider if you are looking for a throwback styled Windows Phone game.

King of Dragon Pass (a-sharp.com/kodp) is now on Windows Phone. Originally a computer game published in 1999, it was updated for iOS in 2011, and then ported to Android just a month ago. Now, Windows Phone gamers can start playing it too. If you prefer graphically intensive games, this might not be for you. King of Dragon Pass focuses more on the story. As a clan leader, you have to make decisions based on various needs of survival and prospering, as well as manage the problems presented by your surrounding or clan members.

The official trailer gives you a good idea of what to expect in this game. Go watch it before you decide to buy the game for $11.99. Nope, that's not a typo.
