Canada's shomi will begin streaming TV shows and movies to the Xbox One on May 3

The Canadian shomi streaming video service will launch an Xbox One app starting on May 3. It will allow subscribers to the service to access movies and TV shows from Microsoft's console.

The press release from shomi says:

Starting next week, shomi members can use the Xbox Live network on Xbox One to watch all the shows and movies they love, kids and family content, and shomi Collections. Xbox One owners will also be able to stream exclusive and buzz-worthy series, like Mr. Robot, Mad Dogs, SuperMansion, and Catastrophe, along with day-and-date releases of hit series Empire, Jane the Virgin, Fresh Off the Boat, iZOMBIE, and The Originals. The shomi app on Xbox One gives members the full shomi experience, in HD quality, with great new content added weekly.

The Xbox 360 already has a shomi app, as does Sony's rival PlayStation 4 console.
