AccuWeather snags new dark theme in latest update

Popular weather app AccuWeather is receiving an update that heralds the arrival of a feature that a number of users are sure to enjoy: a dark theme. As you can see in the screenshots below, the dark theme — which is available on both Windows 10 desktop and Windows 10 Mobile — contrasts pretty heavily with AccuWeather's usual bright white color palette.

  • No worries. Looks nice with the dark theme. Posted from Rebel Base, Hoth.
  • Will check this out been waiting on a amazing weather hd update for windows 10
  • Will have to check this out. I've been using 4Castr & Blue Skies which are pretty good & reliable.
  • I'll give this a try considering MS took features away from the w10m version of MSN weather.
  • lol. Took this article for me to realize there was a UWP version of the app and phone version in the store. I've the old phone version on my 950xl. Gonna have to install the newer one. Wish more companies would just upload the win10 version of their apps to the same listing. Avoids the clutter and the issue I ran into (installing wrong version). Thanks!
  • How does it compare? I switched from the older WP8 version to the new W10M version a few months ago and found a lot of useful features to be missing, replaced by fancy images and animations. I switched back to the WP8 version because it was richer in its featureset.
  • I'll give you the short version because... wow. And not in a good way. Stick with the WP8 version. I haven't used the desktop version, but the w10m implementation is not good. I do a lot of presenting on MS products and development, and do dev myself. I'm integrating this app as a case study into my presentations on design and accessibility for all the mistakes it makes. I'm writing up a case study about it, it's gotten that negative a response from me.
  • Great!
  • The PC version is very unstable and closes randomly. :( Posted from Windows Central for Windows 10
  • Like all windows 10 apps :(
  • Does the phone version still take more than a minute to find your location and another half minute or so to present weather data?
  • Looks nice but I'm still sold on the MSN weather app. But its a good start.
  • #whiteuimustdie
  • Live Tile? Before there was not one...
  • This is one of my favorite app till windows8. Keep continuous support and development of this awesome app ...thnx accuweather team. Posted from Windows Central for Windows 10
  • I just wish there was one that was anywhere near accurate at forcasting Austalian Weather. All these US/EU Based apps can be up to 10c out in forcasting making them almost useless.
