All the excitement of the Dakar Rally is headed to the Xbox One
"One of the biggest open worlds ever made in a racing game."
That's one of the most exciting lines from the announcement of a brand new racer for the Xbox One, PC, and PS4: DAKAR 18. The cross-country rally game has just been announced and will bring all the thrills and spills of the infamous Dakar Rally to your home later this year.
Expect licensed manufacturers, teams, and drivers as well as the five authentic classes from the rally, including bikes and quads. Not only this but it promises single player, online multiplayer and offline local multiplayer so you can tear through the dunes with your buddies.
Forza Horizon 3 is currently the best example of an open-world racer, but the wilderness of the Dakar Rally is a whole new, exciting proposition for a racing game. There's no slated release date yet, but needless to say, it's one we'll be keeping a close eye on.

This trailer scares me as if the physics is completely left out of the game and vehicles will most likely stick to the ground and you can just blindly press forward as in Fuel or Asphalt Extreme.
It's a CGI trailer. Not at all representative of the game.
When there is a physics engine to a game, only a moron development studio would not integrate it into their CGI videos. I'm in no position to say if this video is at all representative of the game. But I tell you something, they might as well have attached then a video of a Stephen Colbert report, if that is neither representative of the game at all.
somehow it just looks weird.
