What you need to know
- Borderlands 3's first campaign DLC will be revealed next week during The Borderlands Show.
- Judging by pictures and a short teaser video, it may focus on Handsome Jack or Hyperion.
- This add-on is included in the Season Pass and Super Deluxe Edition of the game.
It looks like we won't have to wait long to see what Gearbox has in store for us with Borderlands 3's first big campaign DLC. The company announced that DLC 1 would be revealed on November 20th during The Borderlands Show with Kinda Funny and Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford.
From the very short teaser that we got, it looks like this campaign DLC may have something to do with Handsome Jack or Hyperion, as we see a statue of him and Butt Stallion along with a large hologram of his face. Mad Moxxi can be heard at the end asking if players are "ready to bring down the house?"
We already know that Handsome Jack is dead, but that's not to stop him from showing up in some shape or form since it was possible for him to merge his AI consciousness with Rhys' in Tales from the Borderlands. That path didn't look like it was canonized in Borderlands 3, but we'll need to see what happens. If anything we could be tasked with destroying Hyperion and his legacy.
Gearbox hasn't revealed a release date for the DLC yet but will likely do so on November 20th. I wouldn't be surprised if it were to drop this year or early next year.
The Borderlands Show will air on the game's official Twitch channel on November 20th at 8am PT / 11am ET.
