Chime in: What first got you into VR?

VR as an idea is exciting, but actually getting to try it out yourself is another thing entirely. A lot of people don't know what they're missing up until they strap a head-mounted display (HMD) onto their face, and from there it can easily become a bit of an obsession.

Windows Central forum member John1521 recently created a thread in the Windows Central VR & AR Lounge asking other what exactly brought their attention into the world of VR.

Since we're all here to discuss about VR (and hopefully be one of the winners of the bundle) I think one good thread to start would be to simply talk about what brought each of us into VR or for those still waiting to hop on the wagon, what was it about VR that captured your attention? Whether it was Windows Mixed Reality (WMR), Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, or any of the mobile headsets, John1521 is curious to know what platform and what type of experience you first enjoyed. On a personal level, it was the feeling of actually being inside a game that brought John1521 around, but there are plenty more answers to this great question.
