According to CD Projekt Red's latest investor report, the free current-generation upgrades for Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt are being delayed out of 2021. The upgrades are now slated for 2022, with the update for Cyberpunk 2077 coming first in Q1 2022, while the update to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is slated for Q2 2022.

CD Projekt Red previously indicated it wasn't sure these upgrades would arrive in 2021. The enhanced release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is also bringing extra DLC items brought about as a collaboration with the Witcher Netflix series.

  • Slightly disappointed, but not surprised. It's actually nice to have confirmation on a specific window (so thanks Windows Central!) It had seemed like they were leaning in this direction. In spite of its issues, at the current patched state, even before the next gen edition, Cyberpunk 2077 is my favorite game and the best looking 4k HDR game on my Series X. I'm really curious to see how much better it can look with the next gen release.
