In Short

Destiny 2 is the latest entry to Bungie’s flagship shooter series, succeeding its previous work as the creators of Halo. While inheriting several gameplay mechanics from its 2014 predecessor, Destiny 2 also introduces some welcome changes to storytelling, core mechanics, and the overarching world.

Destiny 2’s story kicks off with a darker tone, following the destruction of the Tower. Dominus Ghaul, the leader of a brutal Cabal faction known as Red Legion has launched an attack on the Last City, in a plan to commandeer the Traveler’s power from humanity. Over the course of the game, you’ll travel the Solar System in search of answers while regaining your abilities of the light.

Destiny 2 releases for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on September 8, with a PC release date still unspecified.
