Groove Music picks up personal playlist sharing on Android

Following up on similar updates to iOS and Windows 10 Mobile counterparts, Groove Music for Android has snagged some new sharing features. Now, the app will let you easily share your personal playlists for others. This update also introduces a way for those who don't already subscribe to Groove Music Pass to preview songs in the app.

Here's the full look at what's new for Groove Music on Android:

  • Share your personal playlists with friends on social media, in email, and in other apps
  • Not decided on Groove Music Pass? Previews for millions of songs let you hear what you're missing

It's a small update, but those are some nice features to have nonetheless. If you want to check out all of what's new, you can grab the latest version of Groove Music for Android from the Google Play store right now.

Download Groove Music from Google Play (opens in new tab)

  • Don't really understand why this should be news here.
  • ... Because this is a site that talks about Microsoft related news?
  • The title of the site is Windows, so it's confusing and has the appearance of being out of place. It seems like redundant coverage, since the Mobile Nations setup is OS based. I don't imagine Android Central reports when Waze is updated on iPhone as that seems to be in the jurisdiction of iMore.
  • I can't wait for news items on updates to Google's apps on Windows phone.....
  • I use Groove and the terrible Android app is one of the reasons I switched away from Android. Good to see this is getting fixed. Hopefully it won't take ten minutes to start playing music on Android in case I switch back.
  • I'm on Verizon with no WP Flagship, so I was forced to go Android. Yes, the original Groove app was horrible but I can honestly say it is so much better now. Love it.
  • In my opinion, its at the "It just works" stage. When it actually wants to work. Windows Phone is getting all the style upgrades and new features first.
  • I've moved form wimo to android last year and although I still think wimo is a better os and so is the wimo groove app I've not had any issues on my lgg5 with the app crashing or having issues playing any music worth giving a try. My only 2 issues with it is I wish it looked like wimo groove but I can cope with the android look and the biggest drawback is not being able to download music to the SD card as you can on wimo groove
  • Its a thing now but it keep failing for me. Never works
  • Hopefully there is another pi day sale coming up. My Groove music pass just expired.
  • Why do I care about sharing my playlists when I can't access my existing collection on my SD card. Good grief let's fix the basic stuff before wasting time on this stuff. Also it's brutal slow.
  • Absolutely right!! There is no excuse for not being able to access music on the SD card.
  • Still garbage.
  • I wish I could at least download it, it's only available in some countries at usual. Hateful Microsoft.
