IFA is a time where PC makers can show off the latest trends in laptops for 2020. This year, it was very powerful workstations packed with Intel 10th Gen processors, and powerful NVIDIA graphics. A few even broke new boundaries for the first time. Here are our absolute favorite picks — the ones that are deserving of our Best of IFA 2019 awards.

Best of IFA 2019

Samsung Galaxy Book S

Samsung's latest ARM laptop looks outstanding.

Although it was not announced at IFA 2019, Samsung's forthcoming Galaxy Book S with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx processor was getting the heavy display treatment. Plus, we finally got to see one ourselves. With 8GB of RAM, a gorgeous full HD touch display, and a depth thinner than your phone this laptop is sure to wow the crowd.

Lenovo C640

A budget convertible we would use.

Although the C640 drops Qualcomm from its predecessor, this new convertible has it all. A bright full HD touch display, built-in pen, top firing Dolby Atmos speakers, thinner bezels, and even optional 4G LTE. Plus, it has that 10th Gen Intel CPU to give it some power. The best part is the price, though, at $850 for the LTE version, and even less without it.

Razer Blade Stealth (late-2019)

This Ultrabook is now a real gaming laptop.

For years people have lamented how the Blade Stealth looked like a gaming laptop but was just a plain ol' Ultrabook on the inside. Well, that's all changed as Razer managed to squeeze in a 10th Gen Core i7 with an NVIDIA GTX 1060 GPU. That means 60 frames-per-second (FPS) games like Forza Horizon 4 and first-person shooters. Yup, for the first time you can game in a 13-inch Ultrabook, and that's noteworthy.

Lenovo Yoga C940

It's back and better than ever. Now, there are two of them.

One of our favorite laptops last year was the Yoga C930, so it makes sense the new C940 would still be one of our top picks. This year's model gets better display options and quality, new 10th Gen Intel, thinner bezels, and slight design improvements. But that's not all. Besides the 14-inch version, there is now a 15-inch one, too, and it even packs a full GPU: the GTX 1060. Toss in a 4K display, and this is one killer convertible.

Acer ConceptD 9 Pro

This thing is bonkers.

Want a 17-inch convertible laptop with a 4K touch display, inking, and some of the most powerful CPU and GPUs on the market? Acer has you covered. The ConceptD 9 Pro bumps the original ConceptD 9's specs to an NVIDIA Quadro 5000 graphics with an Intel Core i9. It's a beastly machine weighing nearly 10 lbs (4.5 kg) and costing roughly $6,000. But hey, there's nothing else like it either.

ASUS ProArt StudioBook One

The most powerful laptop ever?

While everyone was cramming NVIDIA Quadro 5000s into their laptops, ASUS was busy squeezing the secret and brand-new Quadro 6000 into theirs. With 24GB of GPU memory, real-time ray tracing, and tools to enhance AI work, this is one powerful machine. In fact, it may be the most powerful. ASUS built it for graphics pros, animators, and anyone else who does a lot of crunching, but on the go. There's no price yet, but you can bet it'll be over $5,000.

Bottom line

This year's IFA 2019 did not disappoint. Big, powerful laptops are the future for the "pros" out there who need them. But even for regular folks, Razer and Samsung have something for you, and Lenovo keeps wowing us with their latest Yogas. They're all worthy of receiving our Best of IFA 2019 awards.
