ING Direct Australia releases their banking app for Windows Phone 8

If you have an ING Direct account in Australia, you now also have a Windows Phone 8 app. Customers can use the app to check transactions, view account balances, send payments, and find the nearest bank locations. It's great to have these features in an app instead of solely depending on the mobile browser.
Here are the features listed for the initial version:
- Choose to check the balances of favorite accounts without logging in
- See full transaction history (up to three years)
- Transfer money to linked accounts
- Pay anyone, including new people, new billers and anyone in your Address Book
- Let others know you've paid them via SMS or email
ING Direct Australia was established in 1999 and is headquartered in Sydney, offering banking online and via telephone. They’re part of ING Bank Australia. You can download the free app from the Windows Phone Store. Are you one of their customers? Let us know what you think of the app in the comments!
Thanks for the tip, S Vaibhav!

Always nice to see big corporations finally taking notice... I really am only mssing an HSBC app now. They tweeted to say no plans though. :(

Just wait a couple of months. HSBC will develop one. With Blackberry out of the #3 spot, it just takes time for WP to get all the banking apps.

That's the hope! I'm not desparate for it, but it's really my only "app gap"! Our joint account is Natwest, and that's covered... *waits*

Navy Federal Credit Union? Hello?

Depending on where you are, banks may have an app in the pipeline. Understandably, they might want to test the rollout in a non-core location, and if that goes well, then release it in their prime markets.

Groupe Societe General (French) and AlphaBank (Greek) available in Romania, for iOS, Android and WP. No Blackberry love in this part of Europe, the main reason I switched to WP.
-
ING should release their banking app in Romania also.
-
Unfortunately ING Home'Bank available only for iOS and Android in Romania. Little love for WP too, but things are improving, with two of Top10 banks launching the WP app this month.
-
Still hoping for a Capital One 360 app.

Nice to see more Aussie Banks getting onto Windows 8 (Commonweath Bank recently too) Shame I am getting a "GLITCH" message every time I try to log into the ING Direct App.
