File this headline under late-breaking, but Citi Cards (online.citibank.com) has finally released their popular app for Windows Phone 8 and 8.1 users. According to our forums, Citi started exploring building an app for Microsoft's platform 11 months ago, and today, it is live and ready for download.

Citibank is currently one of the top credit card and financial institutions around, and Windows Phone tends to have a gap when it comes to official banking apps, especially in Western markets. Bringing 128-bit encryption the Citi Cards app lets users log in and fully manage their accounts without using the web browser.


AlAhli, the largest bank in Saudi Arabia releases official app for Windows Phone

We love it when more official apps arrive the Windows Phone Store. AlAhli Bank (alahli.com), also known as The National Commercial Bank, has just released their official app for Windows Phone. They're the first Saudi Arabian bank and the largest bank by asset in the Arab world. There are currently 329 branches throughout the Kingdom with more than 3.5 million clients.


Turkish bank Akbank releases official Windows Phone app with augmented reality

Turkish regional bank, Akbank has released an official app for Windows Phone. The app, Akbank Direkt was published last month, but has already accumulated numerous positive reviews from consumers. Should you have an account with the establishment and are looking for a mobile banking experience on Windows Phone, this is the app for you.


Official Barclays app for Windows Phone currently in internal testing

It's already known that UK bank Barclays is working hard on a Windows Phone app and plans to have the client available on the store in 2014, but a recent tweet published by the official account teases that the app is currently being tested internally. Mint arrives for Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8.1

In early March, Mint (Mint.com) famously stated that they had no plans for a Windows Phone app. Then in June, they had a change of heart (and probably some help from Microsoft) as the company announced that their financial app was headed to both Windows 8 and its Phone counterpart. Fast forward to last month and private beta testing had begun and starting today, December 4th, everyone can have Mint on their favorite Windows device.

For those who aren’t aware, Mint.com, which is now owned by Intuit (Quicken, TurboTax), is considered the must-have financial aggregation app. The service taps into any and virtually all of your institutions like banks, loans, investments, credit cards, etc. and then gives you an overview of your current status. Track your spending, plan to save money, see where your dollars are going and more.

Mint is a simple, elegant solution to a complicated monetary world. And now, Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8.1 users can take advantage of the free service.


Chase Mobile banking app updated to 1.47; feels snappier

The Chase Mobile app was updated today with system enhancements to improve app performance. No new features are added, but we can confirm that the app feels snappier. Chase customers can use the app to view balances, transactions, pay bills, transfer money, find branches and ATMs nearby, and deposit checks right from your phone.


Send and receive funds easily with Swish for Windows Phone 8

Swish (www.getswish.se) is a popular Swedish payment system that allows the transfer of money via mobile numbers.
