Lumia 950 and 950 XL get firmware updates via Windows Device Recovery Tool

Owners of Microsoft Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL smartphones can download a new, but minor firmware update. It's so minor that it is not even available as an over-the-air update, but is available if users connect the phones to a PC and run the Windows Device Recovery Tool.

According to Microsoft's support page, the firmware release version number is 01078.00038.16082.360xx:

Combines fixes included in 01078.00038.16025.390xx firmware and 10.0.10586.107 OS update to factory and repair channels (including Windows Device Recovery Tool).

Again, you have to get the update via the Windows Device Recovery Tool; it won't be available as an OTA update. Do note that doing a recovery through this tool will wipe your phone back to factory settings. As a result, you will lose anything not backed up.

If you are already on the latest firmware there is no reason to seriously consider this route, unless you were planning to start fresh due to other issues.
