They didn't mention the Project Astroria, where Future Lumia's can now easily port from Android/iOS to Windows Mobile?
-
I think W10M is still not ready.. They not mentioned anything about W10M OS.. So i think they saved all these W10M related goodies(Project Astoria n Icelandwood n more apps etc) for official launch of w10m..
-
They did that at the software developer conference, not at a hardware conference...
-
Still no 60fps video mode? Still no slow-mo mode?!
Jees...Microsoft, what are you playing at?
Sigh. -
Do we know that for a fact?
-
I believe there was a hands on video which showed 60fps video option. You may wanna wait a bit before getting disapponted.
-
i see 60fps full hd on youtube video
-
This wasn't a developer conference.
-

I want the 950XL =)

Pre-ordered band 2, waiting for 950 xl to be available for preorder as well.

Radio Frequencies?

I am seeing WCDMA Bands 1, 2, 4, 5, 8 and CAT 24, 6. Does this mean it will work with Verizon?
-
2G (GSM): 850MHz, 900MHz,1800MHz,1900MHz 3G (HSPA+): Band 1 (2100MHz), Band 2 (1900MHz), Band 4 (1700/2100MHz), Band 5 (850MHz), Band 8 (900MHz) 4G (LTE): Band 1 (2100MHz), Band 17 (700MHz), Band 2 (1900MHz), Band 20 (800MHz), Band 3 (1800MHz), Band 4 (1700/2100 MHz), Band 5 (850MHz), Band 7 (2600MHz), Band 8 (900MHz), Band 28 (700MHz), Band 12 (700MHz) ^^^ Fully compatible with T-Mobile US and AT&T. Cheers!
-
Can't wait. Hopefully tmo gets onboard with this. Would love to jump and get Wi-Fi calling.
-
According to official product page, it should support T-Mobile. The only thing it lacks is 1700/2100 Mhz GSM for HSPA+ in non re-farmed areas. LTE bands are there. http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/Microsoft-Lumia-950-...(92b397cf367485bfc3a222312149a937)(256380)(2459594)(TnL5HPStwNw-e_sN61FbysKmuNR6csei1A)()
-
What about windows 10 mobile release date??
-
That's not the Wi-Fi calling app/setting though. I can't even download tmobile apps on my branded unlocked att phone.
-
Nope. Microsoft Lumia 950XL will run problem-free on T-Mobile US. It has all the necessary radio for 2G (GSM), 3G (HSPA+) and 4G (LTE). I just checked it. This is rare! 950XL will be fuly compatible with T-Mobile and AT&T. HSPA+ is on 3G radio not on 2G, and Lumia 950XL has band 4 (1700/2100 MHz). Let's celebrate! Cheers!
-
What?!? What about more colors?... Shame :/ Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
-
The back is replaceable, so more colors should be on the way later.
-
Hopefully you can put even metal or leather back too if you fancy those :D
-
Liquid Cooling = gaming phone
-
Madness
-
No, liquid cooling = trying to combat a chip known for cooking eggs on the backs of phones.
-
Are you always this negative, or just when commenting on Windows Central?
-
It's negative to explain a piece of hardware's purpose? Are you always this stupid, or just when commenting on Windows Central?
-
You are special, but you must be making special effort today, I see.
-
So you started with a fundamental ignorance to what I was saying and followed with insults. I see you were just sipping your Kool-Aid and looking to troll, rather than bothering with something like intelligent discussion. I'll just have to remember for future reference that you're a fanboy who doesn't care to consider anything as less than 100% perfect if Microsoft releases it.
-
How come then, mr. Know-it-all, the Lumia 950 also has liquid cooling, if it was targeting the Snapdragon 810?
-
As I didn't design the freaking things, I don't know. Maybe the 808 has some heating issues as well when it's running all of its cores (like it might for Continuum). Maybe the price to add it was really small for a nice feature on a spec sheet. I can tell you the answer isn't "GAMING PHONE," though. We've seen nothing to suggest that these run games a 550 won't. Heck, the 550 probably does Continuum as well. What we DO know makes those phones different is the fact that the 808 and 810, which are big.LITTLE hexa- and octa-core chip, are different from the basic quad-core chip in the 550. So, you're talking about 2-4 more cores of a different instruction set running at high clocks. Higher clocking means more heat, that's just a fact of hardware (though not the onyl fact when we're talking different cores and chips here). So, to make a paragraph into a sentence: I don't know, but probably for the sake of thermal safety.
-
Everyone was worrying about overheat with that processor. Microsoft fixed it for you.
-
Exactly. This is the first phone for me to consider that had the 810. I stayed away from any phone that had it. Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
-
Indeed, that seems to be the case. I can't help but wonder how it survives a drop test and how much the liquid cooling ACTUALLY helps. I wish they'd given more insights on it. Maybe they'll do another Reddit AMA and tell us.
-
Did anyone stop to think that thee liquid cooling might come into play for continuum? It would basically allow the phone to run at full bore for longer periods of time, especially when int hat dual screen configuration.
-
That's exactly what I thought, though I also generally thought about how the HTC One neared 110 Fahrenheit in stress tests, and figured this would help on the general tasks that pushed the hardware (like how my 920 is baking my hand over LTE right now).
-
Lmfao
-
Glass is technically a liquid. Just saying.
-
What carriers will this be on???
-
AT&T. But the Lumia 950XL will be fully compatible with T-Mobile US. It has all the necessary radio on 2G (GSM), 3G (HSPA+) and 4G (LTE) for T-Mobile. Cheers!
-
I want this for Verizon soo bad. Will an unlocked phone work with Verizon?
-
There is a way to make it work. if you have existing verizon LTE phone and both new and old phone as same sim card size then popout the sim from current LTE phone and popin into new windows phone it should work
-
I have a 928, so this may work!
-
Continuum.
-
Sorry, its 8.1mm thick?!?!?
-
Is the surface pen still an accessory for this phone?
-
I also would like to know
-
And cover. And is the pen maglocked to phone?
-
Highly doubt it, would be cool however
-
I'm definitely looking forward to the rear camera as my favourites feature!!!
-
Do these dimensions include the bump for the camera??? 8.2 mm thick is stilt over 1mm thicker than the new iPhone. Not that this is everything, but I do like the thinner form factor.
-
I actually don't like my phones too thin (of course not too thick either..), because I find handheld device needs to have a certain thickness to feel good in the hand and less of a chance of dropping it by accident. I think the 950XL thickness is on point.
-
I'm really impressed with the weight of L950XL. It is only 165g comparing to iPhone 6S Plus's 192g. iPhone 6S is 172g and L1520 is 206g.
-
I so can't wait! I want! Hopefully T-Mobile fully carries and supports these devices as I have recently switched from AT&T.
-
Microsoft Lumia 950XL will have no problem on T-Mobile US network. It has all the radio necessary for 2G (GSM), 3G (HSPA+) and 4G (LTE). I just checked it. This phone will be fully compatible with T-Mobile and AT&T.
-
O2 UK just announced the 950 on Twitter.
-
Vague info. How about... http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/productID.326602300?...
-
How can there be no micro SD card slot? Surely they didn't gimp such powerful hardware with a useless 32GB of storage. And didn't I read something about a removable battery? These specs seem sloppy and incomplete. Even the formatting is messed up.
-
You're drunk, go home.
-
Lmfao. Priceless!
-
There's SD Card support. Maximum memory card size: 2TB
Expandable memory card type: microSD -
Yes it does have an sd card slot. Battery is removable as the entire case is removable.
-
GIVE IT TO ME NOW!!!!! I WANT IT!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!
-
And what will you do with it without any relevant apps to speak of, rain WP is what it is, irrelevant. Posted via the Windows Central App for Android

Waiting for Tmobile to announce this...
-
SP4 and Band2 preordered... Now for this...
-
Moneybags
-
Nah, there's no money in the bags anymore :P
-
Looks so good... Here's hoping I win one ;)
-
Can someone explain the bifurcated button to me? How is this better than a dedicated volume rocker? Won't you constantly be turning your phone off while trying to adjust volume?
-
like any other small change... I'm sure you'd adapt to it quickly...
-
May make screenshot easier but not sure of the exact purpose
-
Just tell me when and where I can get one.... Please :P
-
No Iris Scanner?
-
It has built in Isis scanner.
-
To detect incoming ISIS militants from meters away. Brilliant technology.
-
Lmao
-
Do people even read anymore?
-
Lol, no.
-
Apparently not, lol
-
We need details on the liquid cooling setup. Can't help but worry about a break in it if the phone is dropped, and I'm also curious as to how much better it does its job than typical passive cooling in a phone.
-
I'm assuming it's liquid encased in a copper core and connected to a sink further from the processor, but not flowing by any micro mechanical pump. Passive liquid cooling.
-
Maybe, I'm not that big into reading deeply into the mechanical functions. I just generally want to know two things: 1. How likely is it to break if the phone is dropped? 2. How much is the difference in temperature? I'd additionally be curious to know if it's continuous, or if it's something that only kicks in with the high-end cores running or only if Continuum is going or if it's triggered when the OS reads a minimum temperature.
-
only 2 colours.... boooo..................... Nevermind I see it (Exchangeable back cover)
fine i'll take the black one...
Oh Yes, Lumia Rich Recording with four microphones, so happy -
Have you seen the leatherback cover? Just saw it on yahoo news picture gallery. Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
-
No slow motion vids in this as well ??
-
Only 30 fps video recording?
-
Will it be available in November in Europe too? and all countries?
-
What's the price ?
-
$649
-
Looking forward to tge liquid cooling system and new camera :D
-
Reason for the liquid cooling is because the Snapdragon 810 is a heat missile, it has been a huge disaster for Qualcomm and phone manufacturers, reason for the 808 incarnation that is housed in quite a few premium phones lately. Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
-
What is the release date of wm10 update
-
Nope... Not gonna make me move from my 1520. Might wait to see the price drop after launch like every other Lumia device does.
-
I understand the emotional side of your statement. I'm a 1520 disciple. And I doubt any phone will ever own me the way the 1520 does. But alas, my 1520 winked at me and said "go ahead. This is my worthy sibling. Family. It's gonna be OK. Just never forget me" :)
-
Will these phones support slow motion videos?
-
Definitely getting this phone on release day at AT&T... Can't wait.
-
I'm torn between which one to get..
-
So just to be sure, I am on AT&T with the 920. If i order the unbranded 950 XL, will i just be able to pull the SIM out of my old 920 and put it into the 950 XL and have my number and everything carry over? Still get 4G LTE, etc? And then would MS push out the firmware updates instead of having to wait for AT&T to approve them?
-
Yes Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
-
Yes, provided the SIM card slot is the same size. Does anyone know if these new Lumias take Micro-SIM?
-
Nope. Lumia 950XL takes nano SIM card.
-
They didn't mention the Project Astroria, where Future Lumia's can now easily port from Android/It's to Windows Mobile?
-
Wishful thinking, lol. Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
-
Nothing on UK availability yet? My contract is up I'm waiting on this bad boy.
-
Carriers???
-
AT&T. But the Lumia 950XL will be fully compatible with T-Mobile US. I just checked it.
-
India launch date?
-
If anyone on here has any knowledge on how the liquid cooling system works on this phone could you explain? Also is this feature just for the 950XL or 950 too?
-
Read my previous post why the XL has liquid cooling. Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
-
Yup - I will buy you! Is the wireless charging confirmed by MSFT?
-
My Lumia 920 can't wait to finally enjoy its well-deserved retirement and be replaced by a 950 XL!
-
My Lumia 920 drowned last month... sigh... I'm using a Lumia 640 Go-Phone in the mean time. I'll be buying my new Lumia day one at the Microsoft store.
-
What the Price
-
128GB MicroSD Support?
-
2TB support.
-
Cnet is reporting that it's an ATT exclusive. Posted via the Windows Central App for Android

Continuum with my 55"tv n lumia 950xl
-
I would have like to see some verbiage on the apps, the app store and the future of the app store with these new hardware devices but I'll wait and get this phone after its lack of sales
-
What is the camera sensor size?
-
Videos only 30fps? I thought it was 120fps
-
I have to say im impressed by the handsets but LG has me this time around with the g4. I have had windows phone since the beginning and i have enjoyed the hardware ive had in the hd7 htc titan lumia 900 and lumia 925 but for me i wanted a change i have had a go in the android space when i finished with my hd2 with the 1st sony android phone which was horrible and then the desire but it never did it for me. I have to say after having the lg g4 for a week now im impressed with the hardware and android is alot better than it was before. I still perfer how windows phone looks and feels but if microsoft carry on making hardware like the 950 and xl and the market place gets some of the missing apps ill be moving back to windows mobile. Great show of hardware alround by microsoft though and i hope the device sells well was just a little to late for me. Posted via the Windows Central App for Android

So no smart cover
-
Only 30fps is rather disappointing. No excuse for not having, at least, 60fps option. Other than that, everything I expected or was already leaked.
-
Pen support?
-
So will they be able to use the surface pens and have the flip cover still?
-
It was a shocking announcement when they said they have a surface pro book which is 2X faster than Macbook
-
Seems to be a really compact phone. It's only 2mm wider than the Note 5 (which is crazy slim) & actually has thinner top and bottom bezels (as it's much shorter overall). It also weighs 6g less despite have 340mah more battery! Excellent design.
-
I didn't see this in any earlier comments ...any reason the 950 XL specs do not show the MicroSD external listing?
-
Someone must have forgot to add the info. Panos stated both 950's have capability for up to 2TB SD card.
-
Thank you. I've known about the 2TB, but confused by not seeing it listed. Potential deal breaker for me.
-
Sweet specs!
-
Pen support?
-
Only if you talk to it real sweet. Just be prepared to get a Samsung or an Apple watch in your ass, because the Microsoft Band wipes your ass with the competition!
-
So what's being done to counter the SnapToaster 810?
-
I am extremely curious to see just how this liquid cooling would work day-to-day.
-
I'm excited. I will pick up two Lumia 950XL. One black, one white. This phone is fully compatible with T-Mobile and AT&T. Cheers!
