More proof of Verizon Touch Pro 2 on Sept. 11

That rumored Sept. 11 launch date for the Verizon version of the HTC Touch Pro 2 is solidifying, with Engadget scoring the official spec sheet. Nothing in there we didn't already know. It's still a world phone with GSM and CDMA radios. The 3.5mm headphone jack is still there. We do get more pricing information: $299.99 before $100 rebate; it'll cost you $489 outright.

but locked sim :(

Is that $100.00 rebate taken off immediately or is it a mail-in? I've got a 50.00 credit towards the purchase of a new phone and was wondering about the final price.
-
The rebate needs to be mailed in (unless you order online or are a business customer).
-
Thanks, I'll go play with one in the store to see if I like it and then order it online.

So, $199 after MIR? Wow, Sprint really looks like the pricks this time around, huh?
-
over 2 years, sprint service will be cheaper by more than $150. I pay $40 more per month with VZN than the same Sprint plan. I wish their service was better where I live. I would rather pay more for the phone and get chaeper service. Also, I would bet sprint will also drop the price when verizons actually comes out.
-
I agree with you fully. Since I have corporate discount I actually get 20% of my bill too. SOOOOOO many people are complaining about Sprint's price and how T-mobile and VZN are cheaper but dob't take into consideration the plan amount and service.
-
I live in a state where Sprint's coverage is really poor, my city gets 3G from Sprint, but anywhere else? Nope. VZW is pretty much the only choice for the time being, plus I get a corp. discount on service plans. What I'm trying to figure out right now is how the hell I'm going to be able to upgrade my phone with Verizon without paying a mint for one of these. Upgrading your phone with Verizon turned into a giant hunk of impossible crap I've found. Anybody with any advice?

What is the deal with Word Mobile and Excel mobile not being able to create files...... ONLY VIEW.. My TP1 can create both.... In the green section it says VIEW only... in the white section it says create and edit. So whats the real scoop?

Cripes. I jumped on the Touch Pro 1 to upgrade me and my wife at the same time after seeing what Srint was gonna charge for the TP2 and assuming VZW would follow suit. With my new every two I would have gotten in November I could have gotten me a TP2 for a $100 more (after rebate) than I paided for the TP1. **Groan** I would have enjoyed that extra ram.
-
I contacted VZW through email and I can return my TP1 up until Sept 22nd and get full credit. As long as I can still get the 2-year contract price there's a TP2 in my future still. :) Looks like it's time to re-lock my phone and flash back to stock.

I just left verizon because of her high prices 225 a month for a family plan of 2 with only 1 data plan was way too much even though i will have to pay alot for my tp2 with sprint atleast it comes out cheaper in the long run
-
Holy crap, what plan were you on? We have 3 lines on ours (1400min), 2 with unlimited data, unlimited text, pic & vids, with full insurance on two smartphones for $197 a month. Of course that does include a 19% discount on the main line and both data plans because of some deal I get for working where I do (saves me approx. $32 a month), but even without the discount it would only be like $5 more than you were paying.
-
i was on the family plan the 2 lines for $89 plus another ten a month for the 2nd line with only my vx6900 with the data plan and the text and my average bill would be 185 when it was really suppose to be 150 i dont know were they added their extra $35 from when we had 1400 minutes with the friends and family so we never went over our minutes and then i grt charged $30 dollars per each line just in taxes and surcharges and my wife didnt even have a data or text on her plan because my line was expensive enough it was ridiculous
