Nokia Share, sharing photos between your Lumia Windows Phone and Lumia tablet

Nokia Share has hit the Windows Phone Store shelves that will allow you to connect your Lumia Windows Phone with your Lumia Windows Tablet and share photos via Nokia’s Storyteller app.

Just run Storyteller on your Lumia 2520 Tablet and open Nokia Share on your Lumia Windows Phone.  The two connect over Wi-Fi and you will then be able to share your photos on the larger screen of the Lumia 2520.

Nokia Share loaded without issue on my Lumia 1020 and Lumia 520.  Just keep in mind that until Nokia makes the Storyteller app available to all Windows 8 devices, Nokia Share will only connect with the Lumia 2520.

Nokia Share is a free app available for Lumia Windows Phone 8 devices.  You can find Nokia Share here (opens in new tab) in the Nokia Collection of the Windows Phone Store.

Thanks, everyone, for the tips!

  • It would be better if the 2520 had NFC, but still pretty cool.
  • It does
  • The Lumia 2520 does have NFC.   http://www.nokia.com/global/products/tablet/lumia2520/specifications/
  • Yay! I'm so happy to be proven wrong! Curious, could you send files through NFC too, from your Lumia phone to Lumia tablet?
  • too slow, NFC setup the pair, BT sends the files.
  • I presume it's the same as between two phones, which technically only uses NFC to exchange Bluetooth IDs and a pass key, then the transfer is done through Bluetooth.
  • Not available in my region. It's available in the US right?
  • Same with me can't download in India on my L720
  • I'll download it when a yellow 2520 is announced!!!
  • +2020
  • Very nice app! And nice too that i haven't got 2520! Lol
  • The Lumia 2520 does have NFC. http://www.nokia.com/global/products/tablet/lumia2520/specifications/
  • See, it's things like this why I want the 2520 over the Surface 2.
  • I'm between surface 2 and lumia 2520. But the kickstand+cover combo it's hard to beat. If lumia Apps came to surface... :)
  • Does it transfer the full-res 1020 images?
  • always new apps, love this active developer :)
  • this is not available in the UK or for 925!!
  • Not available in India either
  • There was a NFC Sticker on the back of the 2520 I saw today
  • MS taking away  wireless sync is one the stupidest decisions in recent times (yes, second only to invading iraq). If there were 3rd party alternatives in the market, it would still be ok. Will someone please tell me what was rationale behind that? Please do not give me the skydrive argument because the majority of the world is not blessed with half decent internet access most of the time.  I would love to sync my lumia 1020 with my Win8 in such a way but no wireless sync option exists. So in a day and age, where cord-cutting is the mantra, I have to look around for my usb cable everytime i need to sync my massive music/videos library, while my wife's crappy iPhone 4 syncs on the fly.
  • Really? Removing wireless sync is on the same level as invading Iraq? -_-
  • Relax man. I was merely trying to put across the intensity of the stupidity of the decision. We are moving away from cord-cutting, and MS decides to take away a key feature. But you get wireles charging?
  • Hi, Is it going to be available for surface?
  • wireless photo transfer is what missing in wp/windows8 along with a proper iphoto compatitor, i like sky drive but i want to save photos on my computer not the cloud
  • Everytime I scanned a QR code here in WpCentral, it says, "Bad Request" or "error" or some lines of script or codes on explorer. But on Nokia Conversation, I get it in one scan.
  • Dont the tablets have Bluetooth on them?
  • Couldn't get it working myself, then again my 2520 is buggy as hell. Curtently been 'Shutting Down' for 30 minutes. Hoping for some patches soon. Great device, but needs some major patching.
  • Me either.  When I tap to send my L920 says someone wants me to install an app...and I get an error.  I figured it was this Nokia Share app, so I installed it manually.  But still doesn't work.  When I tap it just keeps saying someone wants to install an app. However, I'm not finding the 2520 to be buggy.  I immediately did a Windows update and got a bunch of stuff.  After the install the device tried to reboot and got stuck on the Nokia screen.  I let it go for about an hour and then forced a reboot again.  Been fine since then.
  • I get the same exact problem with nokia share and my 920, if you find a solution let me know, my storyteller just had a note saying "now streaming"
  • I would like to see this between Lumia Phones and Surface Tablets. with the Microsoft aquisition.
  • Great. Now only if MS would stop @!$!$@ around and let me transfer music+videos+photos from windows 8.1 laptop to lumia 1020 this way.  You'd think they would focus on, oh i don't know, their BLOODY FLAGSHIP OS.
