Reminder: Prepaid App Card program is now live

Back at the beginning of November, we mentioned how Microsoft was starting a cool new program for those who bought new Windows Phones. Basically, if you bought a Windows Phone between November 2nd and December 31st you qualify for a $25 prepaid app card for the Marketplace.

Well, the day to redeem that offer is now upon us, so you'll want to head to windowsphoneappcard.com and start entering your info. Seems fairly straight forward with no catches and a great way to get new folks a head start on their new phones ($25 in apps is a lot of apps, if you think about it). And for those of you buying your 2nd Windows Phone, well, consider this a bonus to buy new Xbox LIVE titles and the like.

  • I wish there were marketplace giftcards like this that people could buy, especially around the holidays.  Something like the iTunes giftcards Apple puts out.  It would be a great gift idea for those random relatives that ask me what I want for Christmas.
  • You would think they would make it possible to use MS Points in the Marketplace. On another note, the gift card is sent by mail. I am disappoint.
  • Got mine submitted. Wonder how long it will take to arrive.
  • i bought unlocked phone in oct. end but activated it on att after nov 2, would that work, what proof do they require, thanks
  • They require copies of your proof of purchase (on the side of the box) and the sales receipt showing you purchased it during the promotional period.  Sorry.
  • Hmm, time to start thinking of what apps I'd buy. I've had a windows phone for a year already so I kinda already have whatever I'd want. Let see... Sonic CD (when it comes out) Fruit Ninja LOL that's it
  • Thanks for the reminder...had forgotten.
  • With iOS, when you purchase an app, you can use the app on up to three devices that connect to the computer that you use iTunes on.  That is, I believe the number is three. Does anyone know what the policy with Win Phone mareketplace apps is? If I purchase an app, can I use the app on both my phone and my son's phone, or will I need to buy two copies?
  • On WP7 you can sync 1 account (with all the apps) to SIX WP7's. wayy more than apple gives you
  • That's really great. Thanks for the info.
  • This is why I read WPcentral :D  Thanks for the free gift!
