343 Industries has been working on a Halo show with Showtime for quite some time, and it looks like casting is going full-steam ahead. A few weeks ago, the network revealed that it had cast American Gods' Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief. Well, now we know have a Cortana.

According to a report by IGN, the series will premiere in the first quarter of 2021, and features Natascha McElhone as Dr. Catherine Halsey and Cortana. McElhone has starred in amazing shows like Californication and Designated Survivor, and is one of the most established Hollywood actors. However, Showtime is also looking towards Bollywood for other talent.

Natascha McElhone will star as two characters — Dr. Catherine Halsey, the brilliant, conflicted and inscrutable creator of the Spartan supersoldiers and Cortana, the most advanced AI in human history, and potentially the key to the survival of the human race.

The outlet added that McElhone and Schreiber will be joined by veteran actors Bokeem Woodbine and Shabana Azmi. Woodbine has appeared in shows like Southland and is a great actor. Azmi is one of the most talented Bollywood actors out there, and has starred in critically-acclaimed films like Godmother and Neerja. She has won the coveted Indian National Film Award for Best Actress five times, which is the highest honor granted by the government.

Woodbine will play Soren-066, a morally complex privateer at the fringes of human civilization whose fate will bring him into conflict with his former military masters and his old friend, the Master Chief. Azim will portray Admiral Margaret Parangosky, the head of the Office of Naval Intelligence... Bentley Kalu will play Spartan Vannak-134, a cybernetically augmented supersoldier conscripted at childhood who serves as the defacto deputy to the Master Chief. Natasha Culzac will star in the role of Spartan Riz-028 – a focused, professional and deadly, cybernetically enhanced killing machine. Kate Kennedy stars as Spartan Kai-125, an all-new courageous, curious and deadly Spartan supersoldier.

It's great to see that incredibly talented people are part of the project. Hopefully, it'll be a stellar experince along the lines of Game of Thrones. We can't wait to learn more about the show, and watch it in 2021.
