Ukraine is currently being invaded by Russia, with the resulting war spreading chaos and disorder. As one of the many Ukrainian game development studios, Stalker 2 developer GSC Game World has been negatively affected, sharing with a video on Wednesday that development of Stalker 2 is pausing due to the war.
"This video is our answer to 'How are you guys?' question," the video notes. "The game development shifted to the sidelines. But we will continue. After the victory."

Studios in and near Ukraine have reacted to the war with fundraising efforts for refugees and others being affected, while also condemning the actions of Russia.
Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl was originally slated to launch in April 2022 as a timed console exclusive on Xbox Series X|S and PC. The game was then delayed to December 2022 in order to allow for a more polished experience. While GSC Game World has not opted to give a new release window, it's fair to expect Stalker 2 will now be pushed even further back.
