What you need to know
- The Surface Studio 2 just received its May 2021 firmware update.
- The update addresses security updates and improves system stability.
- Surface updates are released in stages, so you may not see the update immediately.
Microsoft's Surface Studio 2 has a new firmware update available. As is normally the case, the update doesn't have any new features. It does, however, address security updates and improve system stability.
The Surface Studio 2 is probably due for a refresh at this point, but it's still one of the best All-in-One PCs, especially for creators. It's a unique PC that packs a fully articulating display into an incredibly sleek package. The entire display supports touch and pen as well, so it also functions as a canvas for digital artwork.
While the list of changes is short, it's important to keep your devices up to date. You can see the full changelog below or on the Surface Studio 2 update history page (opens in new tab):
Device Manager Name | Version and Update |
---|---|
Surface UEFI - Firmware | 532.3681.768.0 - Addresses security updates and improves system stability. |
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 – Display adapters NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 – Display adapters | 27.21.14.6205 - Addresses security updates and improves system stability. |

You can also go to the Surface Studio 2 Drivers and Firmware page (opens in new tab) to make sure that your device has the latest drivers and updates available.
