We recently wrapped up the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018 in Las Vega, where plenty of PC manufacturers pulled the covers off their latest gizmos.

Being at CES, I managed to get some hands-on time with many of these future products. Here are five that I'm most excited about and why.

Tune in and let me know in comments if I missed anything, or what you're excited about what's coming to your digital life!

  • I was excited about the Dell Mobile Connect until I found out it's for the newer computers.
  • From the Dell website... "Available on Dell consumer XPS, Inspiron, Vostro, and Alienware PCs with Bluetooth purchased in January 2018 or later. PCs purchased before January 2018 are not supported to ensure the highest level of quality you expect from Dell. Expanding to machines purchased before January 2018 is under investigation. The companion mobile app is compatible with iOS 10 and above and Android 5 and above." Sounds like you might get it later.
  • I was excited to read this article. But it has a video. Yes there are words at the bottom of the article, but my Lumia 640xl restarts every ten to fifteen seconds on any article that has a video. Why do i keep this garbage phone! Oh yea cause i can't afford an iPhone or a decent android. * sigh* curse you Windows Phone scum!!!!
  • Honor 7X is only$199. Or you can get last year's version the 6X for like 150 now. Best bang for the buck
  • Are you watching the video in the WC app or online?
  • Get a secondhand phone for half its price
  • Why not the hp spectre x360 15? It has the same processor combo as the dell, but a better placement of speakers, camera and fingerprint sensor. It also has a number pad. Love the idea of Dell mobile connect, but it still needs the mobile to have a cell signal. It must mean the pc part has two Wi-Fi channels or you would lose the pc's Internet connection. I've just lost that sort of thing from O2/Telefonica who had TuGo which mirrored phone calls and texts down the Internet. I could effectively have a phone (but not smart phone) experience on my computer even where there was no mobile signal. Sadly withdrawn for commercial reasons.
  • Spectre x360 15 was definitely in the running...would have been #6.
  • Good article @Dan, been really busy with work lately so gonna spend my Saturday catching up with everything I missed at CES 2018 and this was the first set of reviews, now must get more coffee!
  • Thanks! Sounds like a fun Saturday!
