Verizon Trophy shows up in their online smartphone guide

As if there was any doubt left: the Verizon Trophy is near ready to launch, it's really happening.

First Best Buy, then the forums, then employee training, then a potential release date (May 12th) and now the phone has showed up on Verizon's interactive "online smartphone guide" in it's full glory.

Although they have yet to officially announce the device, this is pretty close to it and shows that this phone is finally on the cusp of release. So we can now say: yes, get excited, this looks real this time.

  • Finally. I've been waiting too long. This is actually pretty much the motherload of new releases. Quite a bit of other notable things here although not WP7 related. Revolution, Xperia Play, and D-Inc2 coming soon. Bold, Curve, and D2Global while supplies last. All of them have had successors leaked recently so they should be soon. DroidX isn't even listed, meaning the DX2 is probably also imminent.
  • Agreed, Verizon has a great lineup of phones.
  • I'm happy for Verizon customers, I'd trade my Arrive for a Trophy any day of the week. I've used my physical keyboard maybe 3 or 4 times since march 20th. And a bigger screen would be awesome. Actually now that I think about it, I do use my keyboard, I use it to watch video while I eat at lunch. Prop it open and voilà. Awesome.
  • Hell just froze over
  • Not fully yet, remember it still hasn't went on sale.
  • What happened to my post?
  • This is just an honest question: What's so special about this phone? WP Central keeps covering it, but I don't understand why it's so important? Is there something about the specs that other WP7 hardware is missing?
  • I don't believe the phone itself is any more important than any other WP7 phone. What makes this phone so special is that it's the first WP7 phone on Verizon. And Verizon is the largest network in the United States. This could help more people move to WP7. That's just my opinion.
  • Exactly.
  • Yes, WP7 on a network where there's coverage virtually everywhere and calls don't get dropped just because.Hell hasn't frozen over yet, but the forecast looks promising.
  • YEa, it shows up but, it's more verizon bullshit till it actually gets a press release....WTF verizon
  • verizon generally issues press releases on tuesdays for launches the following thursdayfingers crossed for the 2nd!things do seem to be lining up for a 5th/12th launch :D
  • AHHHH, I see. Thanks.I'm from Canada so this was entirely confusing to me. Especially since all our carriers already have WP7.
