XIMAD has released a new game for your Windows Phone. Space Taxi is an arcade game where you play the role of an alien taxi cab driver. Your mission is to bounce the taxi off various planets to collect fares. Along the way you can run over and collect stars for bonus points.
The main menu for Space Taxi has options to play the game, view the online leaderboard, access the game's options, send feedback to XIMAD, view the about screen and access the help(how-to) section. Settings cover sound effects and music on or off.
Space Taxi is a multi-level game that's spans six worlds. The game screen has your taxi suspended at a launch point, the various planets with passengers waiting, bonus stars and every so often a black hole. You'll need to launch your taxi in a manner to bounce of each planet to collect the passengers. Oh...you only have one shot at success.
To launch your taxi, tap/hold the taxi and drag your finger on the screen to set the direction of travel and how fast you want to travel (the further you drag, the faster things go). When you have the angles and speed set just right release your hold and watch your taxi sail through space. If you travel off screen, there's a chance the planet's gravity field will pull your cab back into play or you could endlessly drift off into space.
As one would guess, as you progress through the levels the game gets a tad more challenging. Overall, it's a decent game for your Windows Phone. Space Taxi is a free ad supported game and while the banner ads aren't too bad the in-between level, full screen ads can get annoying. And should you see the high score prompt where you enter your name, go ahead and enter how you want your player name reflected. Otherwise you'll see this screen after every level. All the in between level distractions can make the game a little frustrating. Once you get past the ads and get into the game, it isn't too shabby.
If you're looking for a simple, arcade game for your Windows Phone Space Taxi is worth a try. You can find Space Taxi here at the Windows Phone Marketplace.
