Windows Phone used to introduce some models at New York Fashion Week

A Windows Phone has been used to record some of the models arriving for New York Fashion Week, allowing participating women to introduce themselves and remind viewers that there are actual people behind the fashion and design. It's also an interesting look at where the models are from and how Windows Phone managed to capture the magic.

The above video runs through the short introductions. While we're unsure as to which Windows Phone was used in the shooting, check out the Modellounge X Microsoft website for more details on "models off-off duty".

  • no.. thank you
  • Not into female models? Lol
  • Lol!
  • Ultraaaaaa Ga............!!!!!!!
  • I wonder when models will stop looking like flesh coloured skeletons and start looking like real women.
  • When they drop iPhone and get windows phone.
  • +1520
  • +GF47W
  • Ooooh snap...Zinnng!
  • The moment you start to look like a real man :P
  • The man in the pic is a man?
  • Wow really dude.. You don't know how this man looks.
  • No props finding him the slipknot fan on facebook and google plus. you can find more pictures there :)
  • You're clearly a nice and decent person. Attacking me and the way I look for absolutely no good reason? Luckily your judgment on my appearance hasn't stopped me launching a successful business and becoming engaged to my wonderful fiance after 10 years. You on the other hand, sound like you spend your time on earth doing much less productive things.
  • Well you dont need to defend yourself. your dickhead saying in the original posts says all. Yeah.. i am working for the oxfordshire is less productive work.  congrats to you and kermy:)
  • Hey look everyone, someone just found out how to use Facebook!! Give him some attention before he explodes! Also, thanks :)
  • Lol....
  • Lol If you be paying out models sounds like you stuck with a fat chick.   Face it... If you could get them to even look your way you would be spouting a whole different story..
  • I have no idea what you're talking about..
  • Lmfao what a hypocritical response. "Attacking me because the way I look" but yet you commented on the way the models look. Don't dish the criticism if you can't handle it in return. ;)
  • I actually think its the industry that's the problem, not the women. There's nothing wrong with them being super thin, but model agencies make it seem to young minds that it's the only way to be beautiful. Not everyone see's it that way, myself included.
  • Exactly a woman that is attractive to me is a woman who doesn't worry about her weight every 10 minutes a woman should always be comfortable the way she looks not like some pile of bones.
  • You make an assumption that these woman aren't happy.
  • Considering what they have to do to maintain their bodies, not likely.
  • Have you ever watched any fashion shows or anything like that these woman are practically forced to loose weight just to get or keep their jobs.
  • Could it be the show you were watching was sensational? All I'm saying is don't make assumptions about these women. I know a naturally thin and beautiful woman that does modeling work on the side. She doesn't worry about her weight at all from what I've seen her eat!
  • Should of explained myself better i wasn't just talking about tv shows etc but its pretty well documented that most of the large modelling agency's control peoples weight etc. Am sure there's models out there that probably have never experienced that but it is there and does happen.
  • Those are some cases and usually made for bad tv, and staged. Most of these runway girls are 15 to 20 years old.  They are not fully develop and too young to be worrying about their weight.  And most of them eat... a lot.  I work in the fashion industry for 20 years and work with many of them.
  • I won't make statements about TV shows as most are sensationalized but I do know there are any number of cases of anorexia and bulimia amongst models. I won't claim all have problems but they do exist. There is a difference between being naturally slim and having your skin hanging off your bones.
  • yes just like they do exist in every society and not just models. And frankly, if they are anorexia and bulimic, most often they will not be hired.  They do not have the stimina to work properly.
  • Well now, that's certainly not true. The drama might be staged but the weight problem certainly isn't. Many well known people in the fashion industry have spoken out about the weight problems that plague the fashion industry so don't sweep it off as "staged." While I don't work with models, two of my very good friends are models for Ford and through them I met some very well known (fashion circles) models. Models are very conscious and obsessed with their weight, it's a very high pressure job and despite your popularity you are easily replaceable. One girl got turned away from a high fashion shoot because she gained 3 extra punds. When one of them started off the "older" models mentored her on how to keep her weight down. They even recommendded she take up smoking as an appetite suppresent. Also, while you may see 15 year old models in print (high fashion and commercial), it is very rear to see models that young on this kind of stage...unless the Fashion is particularly geared toward yound adult/teens. 17 and up is the standard and even them most are in their very late teens or early twenties.
  • Models look skinny for a reason, that reason is to make clothes they are showing off look good.
  • The clothes actually end up not looking good because it looks like the person wearing them is about to crumple into a pile of bone. There's a limit to everything.
  • Pile of bone? I think models are hot! :)
  • Right.
  • Gaining popularity:)
  • Oh, jeez, make me unsee this ugly face... D:
  • Stop that! Posted via Windows Phone Central App
  • well, maybe they wouldn't have their nude pics revealed if they had used one.
  • Fashion, a truly disgusting industry, full of exploitation, voyeurism, and self-centeredness. Oh no, was I taking about the technology industry?
  • Ha! :D
  • Don't worry, see what Apple did and where is it....
  • Which new applications are u working on venetasoft.
  • What do you mean?!?!
  • I opened up a few "Windows Phone Snapped" pictures and according to the EXIF info, they were shot with a 1020. Dunno about the movie clip, but probably the same.
  • I thought it was a Lumia 830. :O
  • Yeah, we need more girls in this forum too ;)
  • They look like guys.
  • Ugly guys*
  • Lol, what kind of guys do you hang out with?...
  • Robot :P
  • Never see the phone(s), just the models, which is, I suppose, the entire purpose of this post.
  • Felt your struggle. But you still failed :) haha
  • LOL, I know. Just that I dislike the fashion industry in general and not in the creepy feminist "men are evil" way. I have known actual models, it's not a happy time.
  • Double took that image thought it was a manikin lol
  • Doesn't the phone has dobly surround sound?  The audio is bad.  May not be a Lumia phone?
  • in the meantime, Apple sold 4m iPhones... MS badly needs to get a clue and up its game.
  • Don't worry, Microsoft sold 5.8M Lumia phones last quarter (3 months), that's a million plus more, it's not like there's that much difference between 24 hours and 3 months. /s
  • The drama in here made me forget what the article is about. Good show!
  • Interesting. U.S. born models answered with the name of the country in U.S. while others answered with the name of their actual country (except for some who answered with their city).
  • I'm a fashion photographer and believe me, you havent seen half the shit these woman force themselves through in order to oblige with the demand for aestheticized beauty.
  • Daphne has a weird mouth.
  • Wtf?? She's actually attractive...
