Justin Angel releases SDK for Bluetooth mind reading device connectivity

Justin Angel, Principal Engineer for Windows Phone experience at Nokia, has released a new Bluetooth SDK for Windows Phone 8 that enables developers to take advantage of connectivity with MindWave portable EEG headsets. Said devices can pair with a Windows Phone to display readings in both data and chart form for users to look through.

Taking advantage of the possibilities in Microsoft's latest version of Windows Phone, Angel is able to provide a demo to show just what's possible for developers with platform development. Creativity really is the limit. Titled MetroEEG, Angel's kit will connect with a Mindwave Mobile Mini-EEG reader to display readings from the wearer's brain.

As one can see in the above video demonstration, attention and meditation gauges are also viewable, providing an interesting way for a Windows Phone to be utilised. The open source project is available over at CodeDuplex.

Awesome, it's about time Windows Phone got more gimmicky stuff like this.
Now if only I had time to actually play around with it.

I'm not sure what the average consumer could gain from this, but it is neat, nonetheless. Also, where is Justin from? I could detect a slight accent (coming from a Texan), but I can't place it.

So I can wear a bluetooth head set with sensors and I can control the playback of music and video by just thinking about it?  I can't wait for this to become a reality.

Yeah, Google can't wait either. They will record all your thoughts via Android and send ads into your dreams to make you buy even more shit you don't need. It'll be awesome!
