If one thing is certain, people love the Bing Apps suite on Windows Phone. From Weather, to News to Finance, the Bing team has done a great job of bringing a great core-user experience, all for free. But there was one major complaint that the Windows 8.1 RT apps had but the Phone apps did not: Sharing.

Today, version 3 of Bing Sports (3.0.1.121) is now live in the Store for Windows Phone, up from version 2 (2.0.2.177), which came out in October. Large version changes mean new features and we’re happy to report Sharing is now onboard.

Windows Phone Central App and Game Roundup: Are you ready for some Football?

This time of year many will find themselves pre-occupied with the American pastime football. Be it fixated on Saturday with College Football or glued to the screen on Sunday with the NFL, we love our football.

The sport now transcends the weekend with games during the week as well as on the weekends.  For the times we can't be anchored to the couch, taking in all the games, our Windows Phones are a great way to stay in touch with the sport.  This week's Windows Phone Central Roundup focuses on those gridiron apps.  Apps that focus on delivering all the news, scores, stats and standings from the football field.  We also throw in a few football games for good measure just in case you need something to help you pass the time with during those extended t.v. time-outs.

On the heels of Microsoft updating Bing Weather for Windows Phone 8, Bing Sports is getting into the action with an update as well.

Bing Sports moved to version 2.0.2.177 and while there's not an official change log posted, it appears the update adds a few new sports categories. Windows 8.1 reached RTM status earlier in August and a few weeks later developers had the chance to download and start testing their applications with it. But Windows 8.1 isn’t done. Microsoft initially wanted to not even let developers download the bits until October 18th (public release).

So what else are they working on before the public get to play with Windows 8.1?

Update: As of 7PM ET, all links are now working. Please try now to download the new Bing suite for Windows Phone 8. It's not restricted to the US.

Today, Microsoft has pulled the sheets off of a new suite of apps based around the Bing search engine. Simply called Bing Apps, the collection of four apps includes Sports, News, Weather and Finance, including Live Tile support for Windows Phone 8 devices.

Based off of the same suite of apps for its Windows 8 OS, the new applications bring all of the latest news right to the Start screen, continuing the “glance and go” usability that Windows Phone users have become accustomed to. Indeed, this is the first time we’ve seen some real parallels between the desktop and mobile OS drawn and it should make using the two systems more seamless than before for new customers.

Watch our first-look video of the new apps in action and enjoy the gallery of screenshots after the break.
