It looks like Irish customers have to wait a while longer for the Lumia 930, as Ireland's Technology Blog states that the launch of the device has been pushed back by two weeks. Earlier this month, it was confirmed that Nokia's latest flagship device would be making its way to Ireland's Meteor network in addition to Vodafone and O2.

Microsoft has released a new advertisement showing off color popping in the Nokia Creative Studio, available on Lumia Windows Phones. The feature (as the ad demonstrates) enables users to spice up their mobile photography by 'popping' in colors on certain objects, leaving the rest of the image in grayscale. It's a neat effect and one that also represents just how unique Lumia Windows Phones are.

Tornados are no joke, especially for a lot of people in the US this time of year. This video, posted yesterday to YouTube, already has 40K views, and it’s easy to see why. The footage shows the formation of a tornado at very close range. While the video quality is outstanding, it’s the filename that caught the attention of our tipster: WP 20140526 001.

Anyone with a Windows Phone knows that’s how videos are labeled. Combined with the high quality of the video (including superb audio and video stabilization) and it doesn’t take a prodigy to figure out this is probably a high-end Lumia of some sort.

Microsoft’s acquisition of the Nokia handset division is now complete from a regulatory perspective, but there are lots of questions on the table regarding branding and proper names. For instance, the new name of the former-Nokia division in Microsoft is Microsoft Mobile (the ‘Oy’ just means ‘Ltd.’).

But what about the name Nokia on Lumia phones?

Nokia never fails to impress us with the little options and configurations the company adds with its system app updates. This latest release (version 2.2.0.1) for the Touch system app on Lumia Windows Phones enables a new setting for consumers to toggle, which affects the vibration feedback caused by hitting the capacitive buttons. You're now able to simply turn the vibration on and off.

New AdDuplex data shows the Lumia 625 following the Lumia 520's growth with both Windows Phones taking Europe. Windows Phone is also shown to have had a rather successful Q4 2013.

AdDuplex, one of the largest advertising providers for both Windows and Windows Phone, has released data for the month of January. As is the case with each report we cover, the company has analysed usage from supported apps running the SDK to see how Windows Phone has altered, compared to previous months.

There were reports that Nokia failed to sell as many Lumia Windows Phones in Q4 2013 as the company did in Q3, but the ad provider recently released data to show that Windows Phone as a platform performed well through the fourth quarter.

Head past the break to see how the platform looks in the first month of 2014, including some new, unannounced hardware.

Nokia releases its financial report for Q4 2013, showing a decline in Lumia sales before passing the baton to Microsoft

While both the media and consumers wait patiently for Microsoft to inevitably absorb Nokia's devices and services division, the Finnish company today published its Q4 2013 financial report. This latest report paints a rather bleak image of its Lumia family of Windows Phones. Simply put, Nokia (and Microsoft as both the operating system developer and financial partner) had a bad period to close off 2013. That said, it's not all negative and the Nokia we should see after the Microsoft deal will be a profitable company.

Microsoft has told TechRadar that the company is witnessing some serious growth for its Windows Phone platform. Christoper Flores, director of communications for Microsoft, told the publication that attacks on "both ends" of the smartphone market were well under way (high-end and budget mobile devices) and we can expect to see further aggressive marketing should the deal with Nokia go through.
