I've gotta admit I've never really understood (though I'm sure I'll be corrected in the comments) just why a touchscreen has to be manually aligned after a hard-reset. For as high-tech as our phones are, its accuracy relies on my steady hand? That's no good. I certainly don't have a surgeon's touch, thanks to all the caffeine, nicotine and a few other -ines that got me through
law school late nights blogging.
But, like with so many things in life, the folks at XDA Developers have us covered with AutoAlign Screen, which conveniently enough, will automatically align your screen. As XDA member azharsunny puts it, you'll save time, precisely calibrate your screen, and keep you from digging out that stylus.
Edit: Looks like some people are having problems with the app. Be sure to back up your phone before first (which you should have done anyway). Consider yourselves warned.

This is a nice try, but it only works with the "everybody-has-it" devices. If you have a unique device, whether you want to have what nobody has, or you appreciate features others don't like or care about, you are still stuck with needing surgeon's dexterity to align the screen of your Glofiishies, iPAQ's, your ruggedized devices, and the likes.
to me this is useless. aligning the screen is another form of customization. what if i have bad eye sight and center to most is slightly left to me. if it is automaticly adjusted i would constantly be pressing the wrong thing. i guess it's cool for some but it takes about 5 seconds or so to set up seems pretty pointless to me.
i have to say aligning the screen is very important as most of u know WM is a stylus controled os. if u r off a bit to the left cuz the way u rest ur hand holding the stylus then it wont click unless aligned that way too
I used this on my Xperia X1a and it completely messes up the alignment! DO NO DOWNLOAD IF YOU HAVE AN X1!!!
not great for diamond, either. this is not ready for prime time ... wait til it's out of beta.
even if its out of beta, its not recommended.
it just defeats the purpose of having a touch screen that is perfectly custom aligned to your specific touch cant believe WMExperts would recommend something like that
Whoa. Sorry to hear you guys are having problems. Added a warning to the post. Hope everyone properly backed up first.
I see the developer has pulled the download off the XDA site as well...
