Audible for Windows Phone gets updated; includes unknown changes

Audible is a popular audiobook service from Amazon, available on Windows 8, Windows Phone and other platforms. The apps enable you to download and enjoy books in a unique way. We've just been made aware of an update that has been pushed out, version 8.1.4.8.
Unfortunately, the folks behind the Audible apps don't enjoy sharing exactly what's new in the form of change logs, so we're unable to relay this information to you. That said, our tipster has noticed performance improvements, but no new features. Should you happen to spot anything while using the latest release, be sure to hit us up in the comments.
You can download Audible from the Windows Phone Store for free (both Windows Phone versions supported). Thanks, Karsten, for the tip!

Still needs fixing. Fast forward/rewind do not work. Sometimes when I lock my phone it will skip. Love the service but the app needs to get better.
-
Fast forward/rewind DOES work. Go to the Settings / playback. Your settings are probably dialed down to zero. Just dial them back up to 30 seconds or so. This happened to me too. At some point, one of the app updates set them all to zero.
-
The interface has changed slightly. New live tiles too!
-
I hope they did some stabilization. It was a terribly buggy app. That said, I use it almost every day. Presently listening to Masters of Doom about the early days of ID software.

Very good book indeed! Just finished it. Been using audible a lot for the last year, i tend to have problems starting the app...it hangs for a long time before it quits on me. Based on experience i know the only way to get it going again is to restart the phone. Very annoying. Been reistalling it just to check if that might help but no.. Still love the app tho:)
-
It sometimes forgets where I left off and goes back the beginning. That ticks me off. Hope that's fixed!
-
That was one of my top peeves with this app, and one if the reasons I don't use it as much as I'd like
-
This! Me too. Hoping it's fixed with this update.
-
I haven't had any issues with the app before...it does look like its snappier

Golf Putt Perfect - The First Step to a Great Putt "I use the iOver Golf App in conjunction with the SAM PuttLab to help my students to put their eyes directly over the golf ball when putting. I believe that the address position is critical in allowing you to make a more effective stroke. It is so effective that most of my students end up downloading the app after our session. I think it is a great tool to help you improve your putting." Download from:>> http://www.iovergolf.com/ & https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/id555076579

They fixed the 30 second rewind.

Sometimes when Bluetooth disconnects the app messes up, once I had to download the book again. Just finished Catch 22, started Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance.
-
I wish that they would add variable speed playback. Windows Phone 8 is sorely missing this feature. If you could listen to podcasts and audiobooks at 2x speed I could ditch my Android phone forever.
-
Months later still not implemented, anyone going to let them know which year it is? They probably think not worth doing anything, no one uses Audible for Windowsphone, but if you can't provide a decent app no one will...
-
I think it's faster. (cue rimshot)
-
I want it to sync between Windows Phone and Windows 8/RT devices.
-
It would be nice if this app could side load my mp3 audiobooks.
-
I listen to Audible every day. The WP8 app is the worst app I have ever used. It is crazy buggy.
-
Whenever new devices launch there's always a lot of updates to popular apps.. These updates are to make sure they work properly on every device.. That's all.
-
It has a new icon. If you want to avoid the app losing your place in a book, then you have to pause the book in the app. If you use the convenient shortcuts on the home screen the app will use your place almost every time.
-
Hey WPcentral audible does post a change log within the app, just swipe over to news. This update is suppose to support syncing between kindle and other audible apps and more markets (AU and FR).

Along with a slight logo change (as mentioned above - greenish stripe changed to greyish-white)
