What you need to know

  • A leak on the website Bilibili suggests that the Battlefield 2042 beta may begin on Oct. 6 and might run until Oct. 9, though it could also last longer.
  • The beta is expected to include access to Battlefield 2042's expansive multiplayer, including its huge maps and its large variety of weapons, vehicles, and gadgets.
  • The beta may also allow players to try out Battlefield Portal, a special game mode that gives players the freedom to use factions, weapons, and vehicles from previous Battlefield games on classic Battlefield maps that have been remastered.

A webpage on the Chinese video sharing website Bilibili has potentially revealed the dates for the Battlefield 2042 beta. The page, which appears to be official marketing material for Battlefield 2042, says that there are events during the beta between Oct. 6 and Oct. 9. It's not entirely clear if the Oct. 9 date refers to the conclusion of the beta or something else. We'll update this article when we learn more.

Since Battlefield 2042 was recently added to Bilibili's livestream list and there's an official Battlefield account on the website, it's very likely that the information on this webpage is true.

With tons of gigantic maps, a gigantic sandbox of weapons, vehicles, and gadgets to use, and a brand new dynamic weather system that can spawn devastating tornadoes, sandstorms, and more, Battlefield 2042 is looking like it could end up being one of the best entries in the franchise yet. The game will also include Battlefield Portal, a new mode where players can play on remastered versions of classic Battlefield maps while using any of the factions, weapons, and vehicles from previous Battlefield games.

Considering many Battlefield fans are feeling disappointed that Battlefield 2042 has been delayed to November 19, it's good to hear that the beta is potentially less than two weeks away.
