Blizzard will save the day when Overwatch is launched on May 24 for Xbox One and PC

Blizzard first original game in over 15 years will be released on May 24. That's when Overwatch, its team-based multiplayer shooter, will be launched on the Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4 platforms.

Blizzard also announced that an open beta for Overwatch will begin on May 3 for people who pre-order the game, and those folks can invite a friend. The early access offer ends on April 29. Every Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4 owners will be able to join the open beta on May 5, and it will end on May 9. All 21 Overwatch heroes and all of the maps will be available during the open beta.
