What you need to know

  • Facebook's having a spike in outage reports right now.
  • Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp don't seem to be as affected.
  • Reports started spiking around 12 p.m. ET.

Update April 30, 2021 at 12:22 pm ET: Facebook outage reports are going down, signaling that this might've just been a flash-in-the-pan issue.

Just in time for the glut of social media traffic that occurs when people pray for Friday to be over and for the weekend to start, Facebook appears to be having issues. Outage reports started spiking shortly before 12 p.m. ET.

It seems as though Instagram, Facebook Messenger, and WhatsApp remain relatively unaffected, so perhaps issues aren't that widespread. Furthermore, it looks like outage reports regarding Facebook are going down as I type this sentence. There's a chance that problems have leveled off and Facebook has everything under control now, in stark contrast to the whole thirty minutes where things seemingly got out of control.

If anything changes, this post will be updated.
