At E3 2018, Microsoft announced Gears 5. The game features a new protagonist and seems to focus on exploration more than the horrors of war. The plot moves away from the grizzled Fenix family and reveals Kait as the new protagonist.

It's unclear if the April 23 release date coincides with the launch of Gears 5. We'll keep you posted as soon as we know more. However, it seems like this book will probably release a few months before the game launches.
