Get the forecast, rain or shine, with Got The Weather for Windows 10

Got The Weather joins a very crowded field of Windows 10 weather apps and hopes to catch your attention with its simple and concise design. Available for Windows 10 PC and Mobile, Got The Weather provides the current forecast information, what to expect from Mother Nature in the next 24 hours and an extended forecast.
The app lacks weather radar but does support weather alerts in the form of push notifications and Live Tile flags. There is not a lot of flash with Got The Weather, but it does a good job covering the basics.
Got The Weather opens up the current forecast information with the ability to side swipe to view the 24-hour forecast (broken down by the hour) and seven day forecast.
Weather information includes:
- Current temperature and feels-like temperature
- Humidity
- Rain Probability
- Wind Speed
- Cloud Coverage
- Barometric Pressure
- High Temperature
The current weather conditions are presented in detail with the 24-hour and seven-day forecasts offering a summarized forecast. If you need more detail, just tap an individual hourly period or a day of the week to pull up more details in the forecast.
There is also a menu bar running down the side of the display with options to select your location, refresh the weather information, view weather conditions from last year, share the forecast, access the settings and view any weather alerts. The historical information from the previous year is a nice touch, allowing you to jog your memory and answer the inevitable question: "Was it this hot/cold last year?"
By default, the forecast location is based on your device's location (from GPS, Wi-Fi, and/or cellular) and you have the ability to manually enter additional locations. Switching between locations requires you to visit the locations menu, though you'll be limited to just the United States.
Settings for Got The Weather include turning on/off notifications, choosing your measurement units and turning on/off background images. Background images illustrate the current weather conditions. The alternative is a solid gray backdrop.
The app does lack weather maps or radar, but it does a good job of notifying you of weather alerts both through push notifications and Live Tile support. Speaking of which, the Live Tile displays the current conditions on one side and an extended forecast on the other. Options are non-existent with the Live Tile beyond small, medium and wide tile sizes. I would have liked to have seen options on what the Live Tile displays, the option to turn off the backside and a transparent option.
While there is room for improvement, Got The Weather is a clean and free Windows 10 app. If you are looking for a more feature-rich weather app, it probably will not fit the bill. If you are looking for a weather app that provides the basic forecast information in a clear and concise manner, Got The Weather might be just what you are looking for.

Don't devs ever get bored of weather apps? With so many things Windows 10 needs, people still keep pushing weather apps. I know having options is great and all, but come on... Enough is enough.
-
For those who liked the previous MS app, we're still searching for a good replacement. Hopefully this one is it.
-
The MS Weather App is also really good..

come on guys! i need more weather apps!

Hey George, which service do they get their data from? I've been trying to figure out which one is the most accurate recently, Weather Underground (amazing weather, Weather Channel), Foreca (Microsoft Weather), or Forecast.io (Appy Weather, Blue Skies) and I found a website called forecastadvisor.com which tracks the results over time. It put weather underground, foreca and accuweather really high for my area, but forecast.io was more middle of the pack. I use Appy Weather so I was considering switching, but the other day it was raining fairly hard here, and Appy was the only one that correctly reported that as the current conditions. None of the others even had it raining.

I just walk outside.
-
Can't just "walk outside" if you're trying to see what the forecast is or what the conditions are for someplace 200 miles away.
-
No, but they can.
-
It's from Forecast.io Posted via the Windows Central App for Android

Thanks!

I'm happy with the BlueSkies app
-
Does it support lock screen ?
-
I want weatherzone, weather underground uwp app

The best and most accurate weather app I had on my Windows Phone was Foreca Weather ( https://www.windowscentral.com/e?link=https2F%2Fclick.linksynergy.co... ) which is no longer compatible with the recent version of W10 (Redstone). The app had sat images and never failed.

I am curious, why is a radar needed in a weather app? If the weather app shows you temperature, chance of rain, wind, humidity, etc. isn't that enough to know how to dress for the day and whether to carry an umbrella?
-
I don't find them useful too. I prefer more straightforward apps.
-
Personally, I use radar just as much as regular weather apps. No matter how accurate at predictions a weather service is, it's sometimes more useful and accurate to see the weather pattern coming, how close it is to you, and how long it is until it'll be gone. I've been using MyRadar for years for this. One of my favorite apps, and has always supported WP!
-
Ever actually used the radar to see how close a storm is getting or if it is going to hit where you are or miss you? An accurate live radar is one of the most useful functions here.
-
If a storm is getting closer, won't the wind speeds, rain, hail (and whatever) predictions increase? Plus you may see a storm headed towards you on the radar and the wind could just blow it away when its getting close.
-
No, that's me just walking outside and exhaling when I don't feel like getting wet.
-
I prefer Blue Skies & 4castr.

Amazing Weather HD. That is all.

Agree. It's most accurate in Croatia. Posted via the Windows Central App for Android

Reader is needed for me. Use Amazing, Accuweather, and MSN.

I really, really miss WP when I see beautyful apps like this one. :-( Posted via the Windows Central App for Android

How do they give these apps for free!!! The professional APIs do cost some money.
